Actual quote from Ed Rollins about the fact that a Trump/Gingrich ticket would have six wives between them: They certainly understand women.
...
Gingrich has a reputation for insinuating himself into campaigns by firing off dozens of e-mails brimming with ideas that range from brilliant to insane. While its a quality that has irritated previous presidential candidates such as John McCain and Mitt Romney, sources say that Trump has come to value the former speakers opinions.
They talk every day, says a source familiar with the relationship, who claims that Gingrich e-mails Trump, campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and campaign manager Corey Lewandowski countless times a day. On Friday, the source says Gingrich sent five messages after lunch, musing on everything from Fox host Megyn Kellys interview with Trump to Trumps recently announced list of potential Supreme Court nominees to ideas for targeting Bernie Sanderss voters

“Newt knows the ropes, but not much popular appeal. Trump should pick a woman. His biggest negatives are with women.”
Star Parker?
Absolutely!
Well, that's two of us who figured that one out.
If Newt were 97, some FReepers would still think he'd be a good VP choice.
NO Newt newbie. We are trying to replace globalists and elitists, not nurture them!
He would make a superb WH Chief of Staff.
Some FReepers were okay with Romney and Jeb too. No accounting for the lame....LOL
Trump/Miller
Has a nice ring to it!
I’m still voting for Pedro.
Absolutely! Trump would be a fool not to have Newt on his staf in some capacity. I would make him Chief of Staff. You don’t get any closer to the Pres than that.
That and he was in those Star Wars prequels. He was a busy guy.

Cheney / Bush might have been a better combination.
Too much travel.
” Chief of Staff”
That would work.
September 1942
16 year-old Kathleen “Kit” Daugherty marries 19 year-old Newton C. McPherson, Jr. a mechanic. Kit says marriage falls apart in three days.
June 17, 1943
“Little Newtie” born. Pennsylvania.
1946
Newt's mother Kit, now 19 , re-marries an Army officer, Robert Gingrich, who promptly adopts Newt. Bob Gingrich serves in Korea and Vietnam during Newt's childhood and adolescence. Newt has close bond to his mother. In early years, also spends a lot of time with Newt McPherson's sister Loma and her husband and, with his grandmother, a teacher, who taught toddler Newt how to read.
1953
10 year-old Newt loves reading and animals. Takes a bus to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to lobby the mayor to open a city zoo. He gets written up in the local paper.

Family moves to Fort Benning, Columbus, Georgia. Newt enters Baker High School. He's a “little adult” — smart, thick glasses, socially awkward. Not good at sports. Makes first close friend, Jim Tilton, and runs Tilton’s successful campaign for student body president. Friends say Newt is already talking about his plans to become Speaker of the House.
1961
Newt graduates from high school. He's a debater, a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist, and is voted “Most Intellectual” by his classmates.
One of the biggest things Trump and Newt share is their passion for America and how they truly want to make America Great Again!
Go Newt for VP!
Apples and oranges. Bush was part of the socialism problem whereas Reagan was part of the limited government/political freedom solution, as we hope anti-PC Trump to be.
People have got to get a vision for their country beyond the next election. They need to look into the next generation. Trump’s VP pick must be someone who carries this thing forward in eight years or this whole Trump “Make America Great Again” is just another flash in the pan.
Nah, that would be a waste of his talent. Who listens to the press secretary?
“Trump will choose a running mate capable of exciting and inspiring a much broader swath of the electorate.”
I agree with you FW, and I will be surprised if the announcement is not a complete surprise to the commentariat.
I think the pick will probably be a woman, as well. A tough minded competent one, like Jeane Kirkpatrick.
Spot on.
You will probably end up being right. I really, really hate to bring this up (because Cruz supporters threw it in our faces so many times) but Trump *did* joke about picking Oprah. He said such a ticket would be unstoppable. Of course the Oprah part was just Trump horsing around/being silly, but it’s still a window into his thinking. He’d like to select a woman, and a minority would be a plus. If I’m wrong I’m wrong, but that’s how I see it. Time will tell.
