It’s been nearly four years since a September 11, 2012, raid on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, left four U.S. citizens dead, including an ambassador, and more than two years since the House of Representatives formed a special committee to investigate the attack. The House’s report on the events is coming soon – very soon.
It just might not be the whole report.
In an interview with Chuck Todd on “MTP Daily” Friday, committee chair Rep. Trey Gowdy, a Republican from South Carolina, said he plans to release the much sought-after draft in June.
“We’re going to get the report out – it will be in the next month,” Gowdy said, “and then I’ll let the reader know: This is what we’re missing, these are the agencies that haven’t produced it to us, and if witnesses come forward after the publication of our report, I’ll let the readers know that.”
Gowdy admitted that for “personal and professional reasons,” he would have rather the report come out last summer, but said he agreed with Todd that the committee owes it to voters to release it before the Republican and Democratic national conventions this summer, when the parties will meet to declare presidential tickets and shore up current and future agendas.
The delay, Gowdy said, was due to his committee’s lack of access to necessary documents and witnesses relevant to the investigation.
Democrats instead see the delay as a strategic maneuver to discredit Hillary Clinton, secretary of state at the time of the attacks, who is seen by Republicans “as the official who should ultimately be held responsible for the failures in Benghazi,” according to the Washington Post. Clinton was considered the strongest contender for the presidential nomination when the committee was originally formed in 2014

Hillary did the best job of discrediting herself when she famously said,
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”
The Senator “should” have responded,
“The difference, Madam Secretary is the TRUTH, and the American people and this body deserve the truth. And because you are either incapable or unwilling to provide the truth, I’m compelled to demand your resignation.”
And I can understand why you don’t; I don’t either, BUT the fact is we are starting to come together...this is very important to keep the Clintons OUT...
And Thank You for those words of encouragement...there have been times I’ve had to walk away for a few days, but always came back because I knew the minute I heard Trump’s announcement speech he was the one that was going to save our Country...

The only curious element here is the timing. Gowdy endorsed Trump, then this.
The most likely outcome is a whitewash by Gowdy. I’m guessing what was really going on in Benghazi was Iran Contra on steroids. State wanted to move guns and missiles from one set of Muslims to another, and got approval from both Republicans and Democrats for the scheme. No way that comes out in the report and Gowdy keeps his standing with the Uniparty.
It’s possible Trump convinced Gowdy that it’s time to choose sides, and Gowdy will move from carrying Uniparty water to skewering Hillary, even if it means some Republicans bleed too.
Chris Christie knows where a lot of Uniparty skeletons reside, and has opted to take a chance on Trump. Gowdy may do the same. He’s smart, and maybe didn’t like being told that “this is the way we do it in Washington, Trey.”
One can hope Gowdy has a patriot heart to go with the oratory, or failing that he’s a mercenary SOB and has come to the conclusion that President Trump is more likely than not.

Imagine for a moment that Gowdy is doing the best he can for the country, under the constraints imposed by the lying and lack of cooperation from the White House.
Trump for President.

Hmmm... if the summary report is a big nothing burger it could have been held until after the elections. I’m thinking there’s enough meat there for Heartless Hillary to have to address - she’s getting hit on several fronts now that she is having difficulty responding to (Thank you Mr. Trump) and this could very well be another one.
When is Gowdy going to refer people to the FBI for indictments?
He should have resigned and walked away.

The 4th question never asked to obama and clinton was “Where were YOU doing the attack while over 40 Americans were fighting for their lives?!!
Question 5: WHO order the stand down of military forces?!
Question 6: Why were so many military commanders in that area later relieved of command as they had tried to send help to those being attack?!
Question 7: Why Trey Gowdy are you going along with the coverup?
