“Democrats instead see the delay as a strategic maneuver to discredit Hillary Clinton”

Hillary did the best job of discrediting herself when she famously said,

“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

The Senator “should” have responded,
“The difference, Madam Secretary is the TRUTH, and the American people and this body deserve the truth. And because you are either incapable or unwilling to provide the truth, I’m compelled to demand your resignation.”

Wouldn’t that have been something to see in a non-corrupt America!

Well, but he didn't, did he?

Nor should he have. Cabinet secretaries do not work for the US Congress. If the Senator, or the congressman, believed Hillary Clinton was unfit to serve as Secretary of State because of her blatant and continuing lies about this matter, he should not have demanded her resignation (which he has no authority to do), he should have demanded that his colleagues in the House impeach her and then demanded that his colleagues in the Senate remove her from office.

THAT is Congress's proper role in the Benghazi matter, not constant public bleating and fundraising over meaningless "hearings" which hear everything except the truth.
