Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d earn the ire of a character named Turd Flinging Monkey, the nom de plume of a popular online activist. A leader in the Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW) movement, which encourages men to avoid romantic relationships with women, Monkey did not take kindly to my new Prager University video talking up the benefits of marriage for men.
In the video, I noted, among other things, that married men work harder (about 400 more hours), smarter (they’re less likely to quit without having found another job), and more successfully (they make about $16,000 more per year) than their single peers. I described these as features, not bugs, of married life for men.

The real issue is that with No-Fault Divorce marriage, as permanent union between husband and wife, has been outlawed by the state. Men and women no longer have the right to contract such a marriage. Given that this has been the Christian definition of marriage, the introduction of No-Fault Divorce is a violation of the First Amendment freedom to exercise religion. It is time for Christians, still the majority in this country, to demand the return for the right to contract a permanent union between husband and wife.
Yes, but all of that has ALWAYS been true, so none of those things are the cause of the current situation.
If you want to understand why the younger generations are avoiding marriage, you need to start asking “what has changed recently about marriage to make it so unappealing?” All of those drawbacks and conditions you cited are ancient, so they are not the culprit.
We’re not all like that. Some of us are old fashioned stay-at-home wives and moms who LOVE our husbands and love our lives and would never trade what we have for what dried up old c*nts like Gloria Steinem and Hillary Clinton tell us is a ‘rewarding life’.
I hate the feminists! They ruined the boys my age (I know of very few actual MEN my age!) and they perverted what it means to be a woman to where if you’re a NORMAL woman they hate you.

I got lucky too, but many guys could save themselves a lot of grief by picking a woman at random in a singles bar, and agreeing to buy her a house.
Why is divorce so darned diddly expensive?
Because for a lot of guys, it’s worth it.

Women have been taught to believe that a pre-nub is offensive to them. They freak out if a regular guy with normal assets even thinks of asking for one.
That may need to change if women wish to be married. This court thing has simply gone too far. The fastest way back would be for women to simply get used to the idea of getting it all in writing first.

This all can be traced back to when they allowed women to vote.

Way back when marriage might have made sense when that was the only way to get sex from a “respectable” woman. The man provided support and protection in exchange for sex, cooking, cleaning and housekeeping. These days women give sex away for free and both sexes view children as nuisances. Why get married?

And I would further stipulate that the quality of Women has decreased by a factor of at least 2X over that time period.
I notice a very high correlation between acceptance of feminism (in women) and the destruction of all of the admirable feminine traits: graciousness, empathy, a "soft and kind touch", and so on. And, when we look into feminism, we see that what is being taught is a perpetual dissatisfaction, an eternal sense of "you owe me", and nearly an absolutely one-sided view of relationships (esp. romantic, but not necessarily). — It's as if women are being taught to hate all things feminine, and then redirecting their self-hate and pain outward, into the men who "deserve it". (And they've been taught that all men deserve it.)
So, what we seem to have are women destroying virtually all qualities that would make them attractive-as-a-person and then being upset that men don't want that sort of ugliness in their lives, they certainly don't want to be wed to it. (Wordplay intended.) — All this reminds me of a portion of CS Lewis's Abolition of Man which reads:
And all the time — such is the tragi-comedy of our situation — we continue to clamour for those very qualities we are rendering impossible. You can hardly open a periodical without coming across the statement that what our civilization needs is more 'drive', or dynamism, or self-sacrifice, or 'creativity'. Sounds reasonable but beware the law of unintended consequences.
If women’s morality doesn’t improve, reverting marriage back to a permanent union will only result in more husbands being killed for insurance money when the wife wants to “find herself.”
