The real issue is that with No-Fault Divorce marriage, as permanent union between husband and wife, has been outlawed by the state. Men and women no longer have the right to contract such a marriage. Given that this has been the Christian definition of marriage, the introduction of No-Fault Divorce is a violation of the First Amendment freedom to exercise religion. It is time for Christians, still the majority in this country, to demand the return for the right to contract a permanent union between husband and wife.
Sounds reasonable but beware the law of unintended consequences.
If women’s morality doesn’t improve, reverting marriage back to a permanent union will only result in more husbands being killed for insurance money when the wife wants to “find herself.”
