Last week, Donald Trump met with the family members of Sarah Root, a beautiful, beaming 21-year-old girl slaughtered by an illegal alien in Nebraska the day after graduating from college with 4.0 GPA. Later that day, Trump warned, “Crooked Hillary Clinton wants completely open borders.”
Indeed, a review of Clinton’s campaign website reveals that her immigration plan is even more radical than that of Barack Obama, who completely suspended enforcement of America’s immigration law and printed hundreds of thousands of work permits for illegal aliens.
However, a much more pressing topic seems to have triggered the passions of radio host Mark Levin who, along with Jamie Weinstein, is one of the most vocal members of the #NeverTrump movement. In the course of two days, Levin penned two lengthy denunciations of Trump’s trade platform and Breitbart News’s coverage of it.
In a story featured on this website, Levin emotionally warns conservative Americans that Trump’s effort to boost American manufacturing represents a kind of existential threat to conservatism. Levin is seemingly unconcerned with the prospect that his energetic Trump-bashing could help place Hillary Clinton in a position to add millions more Third World migrants to America, who almost certainly will not support Levin’s vision of smaller government conservatism nor tune in to his radio show where he espouses the same.

Consider that the (Reagan) administration has done the following:
— Forced Japan to accept restraints on auto exports. The agreement set total Japanese auto exports at 1.68 million vehicles in 1981-82, 8 percent below 1980 exports. Two years later the level was permitted to rise to 1.85 million.
— Tightened up considerably the quotas on imported sugar. Imports fell from an annual average of 4.85 million tons in 1979-81 to an annual average of 2.86 million tons in 1982-86.
— Negotiated to increase restrictiveness of the Multifiber Arrangement and extended restrictions to previously unrestricted textiles. The administration unilaterally changed the rule of origin in order to restrict textile and apparel imports further and imposed a special ceiling on textiles from the People’s Republic of China.
-Required 18 countries—including Brazil, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Finland, and Australia, as well as the European Community—to accept “voluntary restraint agreements” to reduce steel imports, guaranteeing domestic producers a share of the American market. When 3 countries not included in the 18—Canada, Sweden, and Taiwan— increased steel exports to the United States, the administration demanded talks to check the increase. The administration also imposed tariffs and quotas on specialty steel.
— Imposed a five-year duty, beginning at 45 percent, on Japanese motorcycles for the benefit of Harley Davidson
— Raised tariffs on Canadian lumber and cedar shingles.
— Forced the Japanese into an agreement to control the price of computer memory-chip exports and increase Japanese purchases of American-made chips. When the agreement was allegedly broken, the administration imposed a 100 percent tariff on $300 million worth of electronics goods.
— Removed Third World countries from the duty-free import program for developing nations on several occasions.
— Pressed Japan to force its automakers to buy more American-made parts.
— Demanded that Taiwan, West Germany, Japan, and Switzerland restrain their exports of machine tools, with some market shares rolled back to 1981 levels. Other countries were warned not to increase their shares of the U.S. market.
— Accused the Japanese of dumping roller bearings, because the price did not rise to cover a fall in the value of the yen. The U.S. Customs Service was ordered to collect duties equal to the so-called dumping margins.
— Accused the Japanese of dumping forklift trucks and color picture tubes.
— Redefined “dumping” in order “to make it easier to bring charges of unfair trade practices against certain competitors.
— Extended quotas on imported clothespins.

His radio shows always seem filled with hatred to me. The difference now is that he has become a parody of everything he professed to stand for. He needs to fight Clinton and the Democrats.
I think that is part of his derangement. The "Great One" isn't as influential as he thought he was.

Levin is stuck on stupid in a way so epic that I fear only an on-air heart attack will quiet him.

I know you had posted this earlier in the week, and clearly it shows that Reagan, far being from the straight free trade advocate that people like Mark Levin claim he was, had streaks of protectionism in his trade policies, especially when he dealt with auto imports from Japan.
Actually, IMHO, he’s always been that way because he becomes Liberally emotional when it comes to speaking out against Liberalism. Unfortunately, he’s one who does not seem to realize that all human beings have the unfortunate disposition of having Liberal tendencies just for having two sides of a brain. I’d say, like with many Liberal mindedness, he’s probably too emotionally invested (as with all the other #NeverTrump-ers) to admit his wrongness or defeat, or lose with dignity and grace.

This is true to a point, but what about when nearly half of the country doesn’t even have the job to make the money to have left over cash? Your reliance on free trade over everything else is the single greatest reason why we have a welfare state and big government.
Free trade is great, but there needs to be a balance. You can’t build an economy on wealth for the few and government handouts for the rest...unless you are willing to accept the pre-JFK tax rates.
Outside the effects of cheaper goods and lost jobs and factories, there's another, pernicious effect.
The economically literate know it as the transfer of Capital Stock.
Wealth.
And we are witness to the largest transfer of capital stock in the history man...well, except for when we acquired it.
Mercantilism will make you very, very rich. Why we surrendered it to China is beyond comprehension.
I despise Mark Levin. He is a despicable traitor who clearly has sold his soul to the highest bidders — the Treason Lobby.
No wonder Levin’s wife divorced him. She probably didn’t recognize the morally-decrepit shell of the man she once loved and respected.
I was for cruz but I was never a trump hater. And I back him fully (privided he continues to honor his promises)
I don’t listen to levin at all anymore. And I probably never will again.
Levin is a traitor and should be ignored by all on the right.
Levin is suffering from some long-term illness affecting his breathing. I can hear him almost hack and cough several times a minute. He is constantly muting his microphone with his ‘cough button.’
Perhaps his medication is affecting him, mentally.
