Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) in upstate New York has a solid baseball team this season. In fact, player Kyle Bestle believes I think we have a real shot at going to the national championship.
It would be the culmination of years worth of work, practice, and dedication to reach the nationals. A dream come true.
Alas, it is not to be. Why? Is it because of a player injury? An unfortunate outcome in the qualifying tournament?
Not quite.
The HVCC baseball team will not be going to nationals because of Governor Cuomos ban on non-essential travel to North Carolina, a state with the radical notion that bathrooms should be separated by biological identification.

Sure some alumni can chip in and pay for it...
Hopefully this will make your entire community into rabid anti-Cuomo activists.
Well, it is a college, and these student-athletes are getting a lesson in just how bizarre, counterproductive and oppressive leftist thought control can truly be.
The administration of the school need to grow a spine and say “FU Mario jr.” pack up the kids and equipment and go.
Quomo truly is a complete idiot. His well-known name got him elected, but there is nothing between his ears. The parents of these students should sue the State of New York and Quomo personally for active damages in careers thwarted for all team members, plus punitive damages, because it was out of vindictiveness that Quomo made his irresponsible, absurd pronouncement.
Go anyway. When he tries to retaliate sue him and the state.
Sounds like the problem is the governor of New York, not the school.
No, they will be denied not because of NC’s action. They are denied because of the Gov’s actions.
We need to be clear on what prevents these things.
From a complete legal standpoint, what is a transgender male or a transgender female? This should be legally defined before you make a law saying that transgender people can use the anatomically incorrect bathrooms. My guess is this is impossible to define because it mostly comes down to how one dresses....like a ‘girl’ or like a ‘boy.’ So, what they are really saying is transgender is defined by your clothing, and I’m certain that’s not a place the liberals want to go. This entire thing is one big muster cluck. Boys should use the boys room and girls should use the girls room....and girls should play on the girls basketball team and boys should play on the boys basketball tea. We have serious problems facing the nation....which bathroom and shower to use is not one of them.
Wow - that really IS an outrage.
Status Cuome, the wanna-be dictator, is a piece of sheet.
Do community colleges have alumni? ;-)
Good idea.
I bet Disney owned ESPN will be talking about this...
I wouldn’t let this “ban on non-essential travel” stop me if I were a player or coach. Yeah you might have to come out of pocket for travel, lodging and meals but that would be a small price to do two things. Keep the team playing and give the finger to these leftist thugs, showing they can’t control everything.
I guess NY has no problems so Cuomo can straighten everybody else out!
the team is from New York and therefore not really American any way
Apparently the Olympics has different events for men and women, separating them by biological identification.
I wonder if Cuomo is going to take a stand against this travesty.
“I wouldnt let this ban on non-essential travel stop me if I were a player or coach.”
You might if you wanted to keep your job as a coach. I understand that people are saying, “They should go anyway,” but the coach risks losing his job. He probably can’t afford to do that with the Obama economy and all.
Then they need to cancel all business with every muslim nation, most of eastern europe, china, etc. Hypocritical democrats.
