In November, Donald Trump would be the choice of 44 percent of West Virginia Democratic primary voters who supported Bernie Sanders Tuesday, CBS News early exit polling found.
But support for Trump in the general election is largely driven by independents who were allowed to vote in West Virginia's Democratic primary. More than half would back Trump against either Hillary Clinton or Sanders.

Do you want their vote or not?
I think maybe there are lot of folks involved in this election that have never really involved themselves in politics before, on both sides. I think some of it could just be that. I wonder if the turn out for the general will be a lot larger this time. We haven’t had 65% of eligible voters voting since 1908.
Freegards
VA is bad because of NOVA, you bet. And that Governor sealed the deal by giving felons the vote. It would take a miracle for VA to go to the GOP in Nov.
Do you want their vote or not?”
...I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I’d see eye to eye on anything (other than a favorite beer) with a socialist.
I was listening to Chris Plante on WMAL yesterday morning. He was talking about CNN sending a reporter to get numbers for the presidential candidates.
Reporter went to Logan County, WVA because it is 6 to 1 Democrat. He could not find one person who would admit they were going to vote for Clinton in November.
The Populist Rebellion is in full-roar.
“I dont get it! Why would a Bernie idiot vote for Trump?”
Same reason a Conservative would vote for Romney. It’s the only option.
West Virginia was always a weird state. It always voted overwhelmingly Democrat even though the people were very conservative. There really wasn’t even a Republican Party in existence there, and Republican presidential candidates really didn’t even make an effort there.
The evil Karl Rove was looking over the data for Bush’s first campaign and decided he would try to expand the map to make a play for West Virginia. He won, but the state still had all Democrat senators and congressmen. Since then the people have been slowly changing parties until now when the party is now reliably Republican though there are a few Democrat remnants still in office (Joe Manchin). They will probably be replaced by Republicans when they retire though switching the state completely.
Romney won West Virginia by 27 %. Trump may win it by 37 %.
ALL ABOARD THAT TRUMP TRAIN!!
I met a group of Dems at Trump rally in Waterbury and they all said same thing. CT was closed primary so they were going to vote Bernie to stall Hillary and make her have to focus her time and money on him. But come November they said they voting Trump—never Hillary AND never Bernie! And they were cheering right along with the rest of us during our event so I fully believe them, 100%!!
Good info! Thank you!
They were registered Democrats and thus couldn’t vote for Trump and a vote against Clinton was better than nothing.
YES, and they were intent on forcing her to spend $$$$ to win the primary so she would have less later for the real fight. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting with them :)
Trump, by hitting on the number 1 Conservative message in an effective way, has reached most Conservatives. That is he puts the continuity of American achievement, the continuity of having a recognizable America and her interests, first. This reaches not only most true Conservatives, but a great swath of other Americans who do at least love America & her interests, even if they fall for the Leftists appeals on particular other issues.
This might be the most interesting race in our lifetime...
I think the new Q-poll showing Trump leading by 4 in OH and down by only 2 in PA tells you all you need to know about Dem crossovers.
Trump beat Cankles by 35,000 votes in the primary here in OH . . . and came in second to Kasich. You combine the Kasich/Trump vote here, and combine the Cankles/Dinobernie vote (then take away maybe 10-20% for Dinobernie defectors?) she could lose OH big.
Three of ten Bernie supporters also wouldn’t vote for either Trump or Clinton.
These are people who did not vote for Sanders, they voted against Clinton. Sanders was the only alternative. Do you think Sanders gets as many votes as he does because agree with his stupid proposals?
They do not like or trust Clinton and fell she will be a disaster as president. They will vote for Trump in November.
