Cruz’s latest fight with fellow Republicans is a reminder: Many don’t like the guy

In the space of just 7 minutes here on Thursday, Ted Cruz reminded fellow Republicans that he has few friends in the party.

First he tangled with former House speaker John A. Boehner, a longtime foe who so dislikes Cruz that he labeled him “Lucifer in the flesh.” Then Cruz undercut another Republican, fellow presidential candidate John Kasich, who had entered into an alliance with him to stop GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

“There is no alliance,” Cruz told reporters on Thursday, acting as if a pact announced by his own campaign days before had never happened.

Minutes later, Kasich strategist John Weaver dispatched a cryptic tweet: “I can’t stand liars.”

I used to automatically take Cruz' side against the Senate; now I thing he is difficult to work with, difficult to believe.

Can’t we all get along?

Maybe I’m wrong but, it seemed Cruz was the man before Trump showed up and now all of the sudden everyone has burned their Pom Poms.

Hell, I went of my way going to a national park during the shutdown of the givernment just to swipe a couple of signs saying “We’re closed”.

Everyone loved the guy back then and down he is vermin?

Because Trump is exactly or approximately who we have wanted?

Bitter grapes? He managed to alienate those he would have to work with if elected. He then went about alienating much of his original base of support.

Cruz has done himself in and the cracks in the veneer are showing a lot of run-of-the-mill politician - willing to leverage slime if he thinks it will help and to deny what is obvious to anyone that's been paying attention.

His pedestal has crumbled and a relative few keep trying to push the chunks back together in a semblance of a base to place him on.

Hey, I think I literally give up.

Tried doing what I thought was important but, I’m starting to think to it really is all about me.

I may not care too much anymore for what is going around here and will likely have pretty much a non-plus opinion on issues.

Maybe I was right in my younger years: It’s all about the Benjamins....

Sorry - I started as a Cruz supporter and sent him money monthly for about 6 months until it became obvious he wasn't garnering the support a really strong conservative (hard right whacko to some) would need. He has since self-destructed and I have opted to go for the guy with the best chance to try to insure we don't follow Obama with Hillary.

We all get "passionate" as the bickering between sided goes on and it gets as ugly here as if we were running our own campaigns.

Chin up - at least the blows we strike here don't crunch any teeth and fatten any lips. If we were to all get together we might end up looking like a BLM "demonstration" (riot), complete with looting and burning.
