TRUMP COULD SWEEP CONNECTICUT; SANDERS IN STRIKING DISTANCE; KASICH BEATS BERNIE, HILLARY

In a primary season where every state now counts—on both sides of the ballot—Donald Trump is positioned to sweep the 28 delegates at stake in the April 26 Connecticut GOP primary. In a statewide poll conducted by Emerson College, 50% of likely Republican voters say they will vote for the billionaire businessman.

Ohio’s John Kasich is in second place with 26% of the vote. Ted Cruz, with 17%, risks being shut out of the delegate count if he fails to win 20% of the statewide or Congressional district vote. Six percent (6%) of GOP primary voters are undecided. Trump holds a solid lead in all five Congressional districts, by margins of 18 to 38 points. Kasich finishes second, and Cruz is third in all five districts.

This should be the goal of every anti-establishment voter, to shut out the GOP.

Kasich beats Hillary and Bernie.

Of course he does, he’s just like them.

This, Obama’s approval rating, and the behavior of the GOP tells you all you need to know about the future of America.

Ah, but remember - since the GOP is going to be changing its rules next week, all those “winner take all” delegates that Trump will get from states like Florida, Connecticut, etc. will be taken and redistributed.

"Cruz doing terribly again in another NE state...."

Not a shock that a true conservative would do poorly in an ultra-liberal state.
On the other hand, you know what kind of people do well in liberal bastions....?

How can Cruz have momentum after Colorado?

Momentum requires that a candidate have voter interest and support. A candidate acquires momentum when voters in one or several states come out and hand a candidate a victory, thereby signalling to other voters who the “popular” preference currently is.

Ted Cruz has none of that coming out of Colorado.

Even though Ted Cruz’s delegate sweep may have been “by the rules,” it still looks to the average person like shenanigans. And the average person really is tired of the politicos and the hacks running shenanigans all the time to get around the will of the people. It may have been “legal,” but the Colorado delegate fiasco still looks (rightly) to most people like Cruz and the GOP were basically trying to screw the people and select the nominee themselves. Regardless of how often the pencil-necked political hacks assure us all that “Trump just got out-manouevred,” Cruz still comes away looking even slimier than he did before.

That’s not an image that “builds momentum” for a candidate. Indeed, it does the opposite. I know several folks who are giving Trump a second look, specifically because of the bad taste in the mouth that Colorado leaves.

Oh, and smarmy, arrogant Cruzers accusing such folks of “just being too stupid to understand the process” doesn’t actually drive any momentum toward your candidate, either. It just makes Cruz supporters (rightly) look like arrogant dipwads.

Lots of spillover from “NY values” into CT. Add to that CT residents are fed up with corrupt politicians, lost jobs, spiraling debt. I’d guess Cruz heavy-handedness and creative delegate acquisition isn’t sitting real well there.

I’m sure you will make the right choice. Get ready for the negative ads. I don’t know if they will be as bad in your state, Wisconsin was relentless.
