Stephen Moore: Trump’s New Coalition Of Voters Who Put America First
IBD ^ | Stephen Moore

Posted on 03/21/2016 6:08:15 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

What bothers me most is that Republicans don’t seem to be learning anything from Trumpism.

Jeb Bush and Trump were the two polar opposites ‎of this election. Bush was obsessed with raising money and spent all his time pulling in dollars six figures at a time. His idea of a political rally was to go to a posh country-club home, chat with 30 to 50 donors and swoop up checks with lots of zeroes. Trump’s events attract actual voters in the tens of thousands. Bush wouldn’t have won if he’d had a billion dollars.

Trump challenges Republican and conservative orthodoxy on trade, immigration and foreign policy. No one took him seriously because he had rough edges, said offensive things and had never won an election. But lo and behold, a plurality of GOP primary voters liked what he said. The explanation may go back to the famous cereal commercial: “He likes it! Hey, Mikey!”

On these pages I’ve criticized Trump’s Fortress America position on immigration and trade. But this year at least, the voters don’t agree with me. They do want the wall. They do want to get tough with China. They do think foreign goods are taking American jobs. They do want to keep out Muslims. They do want a balanced budget and an end to foreign aid. And they won’t be intimidated by the thug tactics of the left.‎

If Trump wins the nomination and then the election, he will do so by forging a new coalition of voters. He will lose many highbrow Republicans, but he will gain millions of independents and blue-collar Democrats — commonsense workers who’ve been crushed by Obama’s anti-business policies.

They would be a coalition of voters who want to put America first. And maybe it’s about time.

Open trade is a new issue for conservatives to rethink”

I’m with you.

We can agree with the principle that seems historically tested that in the AGGREGATE free trade increases something like the GNP (the global GNP). But as conservatives, we have to recognize the equally historically tested and proven truth that communities get decimated by this. Destruction of communities is clearly NOT a conservative position; the building of communities is.

Conservatism must also avoid stagnation. So we recognize that protection from change has limits...of course it does. But creative destruction sometimes ends up just being destruction.

America is not Singapore.

We absolutely have a historic interest in having real communities where people have real jobs that time them to that community.

Trump gets this in his bold rethinking which calls for increasing productivity, while not letting foreigners have all the fun at our expense.

Wow....

Stephen Moore is one of the biggest LONG time open border, bad trade hacks around. He along with Cesar Conda, Norquist and Hugh Hewitt were a big part of destroying prop 187 in Calif.

And even he gets it!

He got this right! "On these pages I’ve criticized Trump’s Fortress America position on immigration and trade. But this year at least, the voters don’t agree with me. They do want the wall. They do want to get tough with China. They do think foreign goods are taking American jobs. They do want to keep out Muslims. They do want a balanced budget and an end to foreign aid. I think he gets it, but he’s only acknowledging the writing on the wall.

The fact that he pointed out the unbelievable RNC/GOPe betrayal of spending 100 million to undermine a Republican who is clearly winning instead of going after the Second Coming of Eva Peron means that even Steve Moore has his limits.

But he’s going over to Trump out of inevitability. He doesn’t want to get trampled by President Trump.

I wouldn’t call this an “embrace”;

“If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, which looks probable — though I’m still hopeful Ted Cruz can catch him — he will have reshuffled the deck in a way no one has since Ronald Reagan transformed the GOP into a conservative party.”

Although he is correct in some positions.

“For the Washington Republican establishment this is a disaster, much worse than the election of Barack Obama. Because they’re the first people who’ll get run out of town and find out what it’s like to lose their jobs to an alien.

Trump doesn’t have the cadre of Republican consultants, pollsters, funders and party organizers that I would argue have been a big part of the problem with our government. They are the party apparatchiks the Trump brigades are partially rebelling against.”

All in all it’s not a bad article but it seems to me that he’s being forced to accept these positions against his will.

I was surprised to hear him speak out so openly. It's not that I was shocked to hear that North American integration was still on the table. I know it is, it's step one in establishing a global government.

But when you speak out against things like oligarchs meeting in Bohemian Grove or Bildergerg or the rest of it you sound like a kook and nobody listens. But the effort to establish a global government is well under way. The main obstacle is a strong USA. They need to collapse te dollar and our economy, weaken our military and steal the sovereinty of the people. that's why they hate Trump. He throws a monkey wrench in the works. It's not because he makes promises that he can't keep. It's because he can keep them and that's an impediment to their plans.

There was something about Petraeus that never sat quite right with me, even though he was widely regarded by many as a hero.

Things have come up about him since, but I never had great feelings about him even if it was nothing more than gut feelings.

They’ve tried to keep this NAU business as quiet as possible but it’s never gone away. It needs to be brought into the light so we can kill it once and for all.

I will NEVER accept the US being absorbed into a North American Union, even if it is the leader of it. NEVER!

I call Ted Cruz Bush III.

Ted and Heidi have both been involved with the Bush family for years. Neil Bush, along with Jeb Bush’s entire campaign finance team has since been added to the Cruz campaign to further make my point that Cruz is intimately involved with the Bushes. Heidi is tied to Goldman Sachs, the CFR and the Globalists. He’s financed by GS, Citibank and SuperPacs.

From Diana West;

Just when we thought our fellow Americans, voting in droves in the early primaries not for Jeb Bush, had prevailed through the ballot box against the rigged wheels and multi-millions of the permanent insiders of Bush, Inc., we find that Jeb Bush’s finance committee has attached itself, leech-like, to “outsider” Ted Cruz.

And vice-versa.

On March 3, eight former members of the Jeb! team joined the Cruz campaign:

Paul Dickerson of Houston, TX
Boyden Gray of Washington, DC
Charles Foster of Houston, TX
Reginald J. Brown of Washington, DC
Paula and Jim Henry of Midland, TX
Nancy and Randy Best of Dallas, TX.

Read the rest;

http://dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/3283/The-Post-Constitutional-Election-Pt-10-What-Does-Bush-Inc-Bring-Besides-Money.aspx

I’m sure there are more points of contact to be made, but what’s clear to me is, they are anything but “outsiders”. Both are tied to the Globalist, NWO one world government cabal and America’s sovereignty means nothing to them.

From the video, if things remain on schedule as predicted by Mexican President Vicente Fox in 2000, creation of the North American Union will be complete in 2023. After watching what they had to say about being only 7 years away from finalizing the North American Union it became clear to me why the GOPe wanted so badly to install Jeb to the presidency. Who better to finalize the deal that really got underway during the presidency of GHW Bush than his son?

It also explains why they’ve been so resistant to building a wall and immigration enforcement. What’s the point, when, if things go according to plan, we’re going to be one big borderless Federation of States anyway?

After seeing what the European Union has done to the sovereign nations of Europe, I don’t think Ronald Reagan would support the end result, but his first trade agreement with “The North American common market” in 1981 is what started the ball rolling to our version of the EU. It’s been taken one step closer with every treaty and trade agreement between America, Canada and Latin America since. NAFTA, and all the others that have followed have lead us to where we are today.

Pat Buchanan and Lou Dobbs were two of the most outspoken critics who foresaw where these agreements were leading us and we really need them to recall these issues to the forefront.

Ted Cruz supporters can claim that Ted and Heidi are not part of the Globalist Establishment all they want, but they must ignore the longstanding ties of both of them to the Bushes, Goldman Sachs, the CFR and NAU proponents to do so. I choose not to.

If Trump balances the budget and turns the debt around, we will all send up fireworks.

Seriously.

Bringing American manufacturing back will prompt fly bys.

The problem is the “tons of people” supporting TRUMP did not bother to attend their precinct meeting, their county convention, where they could have become a delegate to their state convention, where as, at the state convention they could try to be slated as a delegate to the National Convention.

TRUMP may be swamped at National. How many TRUMP delegates are even going to be at the National Convention if they sat out all of the above to enjoy the weather or clean the garage?

We have been learning that short of the 1237, our candidate will be not be picked by the popular vote on our various primary Tuesdays, in our respective states, but on the Convention floor instead.

We don’t need any wishy washy delegates there anyway, who can be talked down from their support of TRUMP, but delegates there who can battle up, and sway delegates TO TRUMP.

Every state has a permanent delegation composed of the top office holders;governors, Lt. governors, speakers, state representatives, US representatives, etc., etc., etc.

These several “permanent” office holder delegates are the significant number in each state, who will be at the mercy of the Establishment apparatus from Washington, DC, who will be leaned on by DC, and who will in turn be forced to lean on the rubes from the fields, serving as citizen delegates for our various candidates.

It is a very unpleasant reality for a floor fight looming without even enough TRUMP delegates there, if we can not get TRUMP above 1237.

Just noticed a DRUDGE story by Stephen Miller that TRUMP must be beware of “Trojan delegates”.

TRUMP should have lit a fire under supporters some time ago to get us off our butts and starting through the stair step process to becoming delegates for him at National.

This is exactly how we lose a Republic. This is what a real “ground game” consists of— getting your supporters out. I am very nervous, was just saying elsewhere that I can occasionally be a handwringer. HA!

Certainly Trumpism is not Moore’s first choice. But nor is it what you would expect from a Club for Growth guy. Perhaps I am too optimistic, because I really like Moore. And I voted Trump. And I think a bit of unity around him will help.

But your points are well taken for sure.
