Should Cruz drop out?
I want to throw that question out in a thread for discussion.
I say yes.
Yes because the RNC strategy is to run out the clock and hit the convention without a winner.
They think splitting the vote is their best strategy to dilute Trump's delegate count over the rest of the primary.
I say let the RNC really have it their way and make the rest of the primaries be a referendum on Trump or the RNC.
Their man Kasich vs Trump, one on one.
No one can say that is not fair and clear.
I’d rather have Cruz stay in a be humiliated for the next 4 months.
That would be a great way to win over Cruz supporters.
Then Trump should have no problem garnering the required majority regardless of Cruz' candidate status. Unless...

I think Cruz would bring his base of support to the ticket, and I think a united base beats Hillary Clinton.
A divided base does not.
I’m a Trump supporter, but I think Cruz has done well in this primary, and he has shown himself to be a worthy combatant.
I think that should be recognized and respected.
If you care to go find it, late last night eric bolling (sp) on Fox held up the math on a white board. It was eerie the way it worked out. According to his math, if Trump picked up exactly 49% of the remaining delegates, it came out to exactly 1237.
“And as another history lesson....in recent decades, whichever candidate had the highest delegates was the GOP nominee.”
When was the last time a nominee won on first ballot without a majority, but by having the most?
Kasich is Trump’s best friend right now.
A career beltway lawyer and politician are not resume enhancements for being president.

GO8 is in Rubio’s rear view, he’s all on board with an enforcement only trigger now. Rubio has a future. Kasich doesn’t unless you consider amnesty a future. I’m not all that sure Trump will need help in Ohio, he came in pretty close with more votes than Hillary got.
That said. If Kasich ends up getting more delegates than Rubio has, maybe he’s worth a good look.

Tactically speaking, not now, but later. Right now Cruz and Kasich will cancel each other out, and almost all the State primaries coming up favor Trump who will win almost all of them. Plus there won’t be any more debates, so no forums for Cruz and Kasich to bash Trump at, or lie like rugs to a large audience. No more debate forums until the general election, lol. Trump put the kabash on that and Fox had to cancel theirs. Megyn Kelly shlonged by Trump.
too early... give it another week or two and then the deals will be made. See if the Donald has what it takes to make it to the finish line... same with cruz.
politics make strange bedfellows, and i can see a Cruz Trump ticket evolve down the road.

I support Trump. But Cruz, representing Candidate X who has the delegates he has and some chance of winning more states, simply would not drop out at this juncture. Sure, I personally wish he would, but that is wholly selfish. Any candidate X in his position who wants to be President would stay in.
As much as I dislike Cruz and don’t want him for POTUS, I think he would be a great replacement for Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court....I think Trump would probably appoint him....imho

I really wonder what Cruz’s financial donors are telling him to do. They can do the same math we’re doing.
I think Cruz has been trying to get to a two-man race against The Donald, thinking he can win that, and results suggest maybe he can.
What results would that be? Cruz at 13% in OH? Cruz at 17% in FL? Fact is Cruz is losing evangelicals to Trump 1 on 1. Given that he won’t be winning anything straight up against Trump.
