Former Speaker John Boehner endorsed Paul Ryan for president today – the day after Donald Trump won 4 of 5 states in Super Tuesday 2.0.
The elites don’t give a damn about the Republican base and this is more proof.
The Politico reported:
Former Speaker John Boehner said Paul Ryan should be the Republican nominee for president if the party fails to choose a candidate on the first ballot.
“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” Boehner said at the Futures Industry Association conference here. “They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I’m for none of the above. I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee.”
Wading into the GOP nominating battle for the first time since leaving office last fall, Boehner said that “anybody can be nominated” at the convention in Cleveland this summer.
Boehner, who now splits his time between Florida, Ohio and D.C., had long whispered to friends that he believes Ryan could be the party’s political savior if it came to that.
But Boehner never said it publicly until now.

I hope you are right that Boehner WAS letting us know the GOP are planning to steal the election, as we are theorizing. It may be a part of Boehner’s redemption as I think he was up to his eyeballs in corruption, but maybe now has time to think about his soul (it’s the Irish in him).
The Estab’ picked Paul Ryan the moment they panicked, seeing TRUMP become more than viable, but actually probable.
Cruz, no wonder, was sufficiently depressed last night. Even he knows he isn’t going to be getting the hand off from the Establishment pickers.
Romney has been rooting under the bushes for Ryan, certainly.
Still, it’s pretty hard to believe “they” will actually sink the ship to smother voters from coast to coast, to elect Hillary. Traitors, all.
What a joke. We are going to do something very different Boner. WE are going to select our new party leader the old fashioned way. We are going to allow the people in the states to vote. The old “Establishment” is not going to over ride the vote . They better not even try. Paul Rino is not on our ballots but if he was the endorsement of this gutless, spineless capitulating worm would cement our support for TRUMP.

Honestly, I feel the same. In my bones I just don’t think this can come to fruition, UNLESS, they want to reverse what we have accomplished here.
We have taken down the Party and will own the apparatus of the RNC. They may wish to have a fist fight and take it back in an attempt to force us out, instead, to make us go Third Party, so they keep the apparatus and we scratch out a new party in the hinderlands.
Gotta be bluster, and we need to get active in our respective states.

Exactly. That will be the shot heard round the world when the still Romney Rules Committee advances a Rules change prior to the delegates assembly in Convention.
You know, I can live with “my vote” not meaning anything, however when it is the PEOPLE’S VOTE NOT MEANING ANYTHING...

The “GOP” in not part of our Government. They are a “private party”. Picture it on a smaller scale. Lets say it is a VFW with both full fledged (actual veterans) member and social members (affiliates with ties to a veteran). While all vote for the post commander, the full fledged members can over-rule the social members if they don’t like the vote. That is the 30k foot view.
As with the VFW, if the socials don’t like it, they can always find another post for instance or another club altogether and chances are that VFW goes toes up because it cannot support itself financially with only full fledged members paying dues.
(The above account of VFW’s is true all over the states BTW).
So, we have “party members” in the GOP throwing a fit and wrestling control away from the electorate of their “private party” and want to pick their own post commander so to speak. Fine, try it and just watch what happens next time they grovel for donations. They will find their party vastly smaller than it was before they started their bullshit. They will wither and die as a party and a new party of conservatives will fill the vacuum.
I say again, no wonder Cruz was depressed last night, while mouthing the words of victory over nothing. Doubtless, he has gotten the word the mafia will be coalescing around Paul Ryan and Cruz is out of hope.
That realization may cause Cruz to shut up and come hat in hand to TRUMP, if the Rules are changed, or if Ryan is brokered in, at Convention.
