If Ted Cruz is to come from behind and win the Republican nomination, it's "gonna take an entire unity effort" to win support from the establishment, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday.
The comment from Limbaugh, who has not formally backed any candidate, is the latest indication that the iconoclastic Texas senator will have his work cut out for him as he seeks to cut off Donald Trump.
Limbaugh presented two theories, the first of which assumed that Cruz accepts the premise that he still has time to get to 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention, adding that "to essentially beat Trump by unifying everybody, there's a big part of this that also has to get behind Cruz."

Gee, even a "lower information" guy like me thinks you said something wise :- ) But to hear Ted talk, he's kicking Trump's butt really well. No, the evangelical strategy is out for Cruz -- now it's time to try the GOPe alliance. If you read between the lines, Rush is basically saying it's almost impossible for Cruz to get the nomination now. |
He really has shown his true colors....Washington elite with ivy degree. Gosh he keeps this up it may be one and done.
>>Well he did go against the Estalishment on Obamacare. Unless that was all a scam to set him up to run for president...<<

I think you just broke the code. It’s like Hillary calling for a complete investigation of Benghazi, knowing it ain’t gonna happen.
It is odd that only a couple of other senators backed him up in the anti—obamacare “fight”: Mike Lee and Rand. Guess it shows who wasn’t in the Establishment loop anyway.
Cruz has worked for the establishment his entire career...is there some part of that you do not understand? Is there some part of “establishment does not mean just the elected cronies”, it also means the establishment donors from whence one got the money to get elected to whom one then becomes beholden to? I have checked Cruz’s voting record and it fits the desires of his donors to a “T”, including wholly unconstitutional political protections from lawsuits.
Rush and Hanity doing verbal gymnastics to justify their support of Trump, without actually coming out and endorsing him.
Trump must be hanging something mighty big over their heads, since they are trashing their credibility shilling for him.
I bet their ratings take at least a 10% hit, if not more over this.
Well then, we'll see no further criticism of my posts. ;-)
That’s not the rules though.
I have always believed those incredibly thin skinned people like you that get the vapors on hearing something you don't like are normally less informed people to begin with. Your type is no better than liberals on college campuses that need safe zones.
I agree. Rush has been very kind to Trump and his supporters. People get bent out of all kinds of shapes if Rush makes an observation that is not perceived as pro Trump. If Rush thinks Trump went a bit too far in some statement, my gosh, all hell breaks loose. He is observing...not necessarily saying something is good or bad, but just observing. He has made points where he thought Cruz did well or did poorly in something.
Uh huh ...

Is there some part of you that doesn’t understand that Cruz’s record shows that he is by far the most consistent conservative candidate in this race and that continuing to pick a fight with me over the ludicrous notion that he’s somehow in bed with the GOP Establishment isn’t doing a damn thing to change my mind?
Now give it up already.
