Blue-Collar Democrat for Trump Explains Exactly What's Going On Out There

RUSH: Here's Rich in Saginaw, Michigan. Back to you, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. How are you?

RUSH: I'm good. Thank you for calling, sir.

CALLER: Well, I think I got a solution for you.

RUSH: For what? Wa wa wa wa wait. A solution for what?

CALLER: Why the conservatives can't understand why all of us want Trump in there.

RUSH: All right.

CALLER: Us meaning the working guys, like in Michigan. In my factory, everybody's got a Trump sticker on their hard hat. We're ready to go to work for this guy.

RUSH: Are you a union member, did you say?

CALLER: Oh, no. Nope. I'm not, and I'm actually a registered Democrat.

RUSH: So you're a registered Democrat, you're a middle-class working guy, blue-collar Democrat Reagan era. If this were the Reagan era, you'd be voting Reagan, probably, and be considered a blue-collar Democrat?

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Okay. But now it's Trump, and you're ready to go for Trump, why, instead of say Cruz or any other conservative?

CALLER: Well, kind of. It's kind of like a few callers ago he said that us guys are low-informed voters. I mean, just 'cause we didn't march out of somewhere with a Harvard degree or whatever, I guess we're not qualified to vote for the president of the United States. I feel like that's the whole thing. It's like we're not important, yet here we've been carrying the country on our back with taxes for years and years and we get no appreciation whatsoever.

RUSH: I'm telling you, folks.

CALLER: These people are always looking past us, always giving something to this group or that group.

RUSH: Look, I totally agree with that. In fact, I am of the same frame of mind you are. The question is, so many conservatives are asking why are you thinking Trump is the answer to that and not, say, Ted Cruz?

CALLER: Well, I'll tell you. One good thing is, Mr. Trump has done things in real life. We need results. Congress is like a bunch of three-year-olds playing with Legos. If they put it together and it doesn't work, they don't care, they just take it apart and start all over again. Mr. Trump has vetted himself in the real world. He's a successful businessman. He's someone that we should be looking to for answers. These guys just talk amongst themselves. At the end of the day does it matter? No, they still got their big pensions and their health care, while we're out here slugging it out the waiting for answers that never come.

RUSH: Is there anything Trump says or has done that bothers you, that alarms you, that gives you any pause?

CALLER: Well, I don't know. He's kind of like one of those guys on the line. Sometimes, you know, we get in a heated discussion and somebody might say something that's maybe a little over the top or something, but for the most part I kind of like being the John Wayne in America as opposed to the we're gonna get slapped from every little country that's around the world. I'm tired of being disrespected. We're the biggest armed forces in the world. Why would we even take crap from anybody? It's ridiculous.

RUSH: Well, totally. The question actually is not that. Many people are upset with people like you because they don't understand how you can look the other way at some of the things Trump says and some of the ways he insults people and makes fun of people with disability -- this is the criticism I hear. They don't understand why you look past all of that and --

CALLER: Well, okay. I'm sorry, Rush, go ahead.

RUSH: No, go ahead. It's your turn.

CALLER: Well, I think the time for political correctness patty-cake stuff, we're getting nowhere with this. We really need to, you know, pull up our pants and be Americans again. Make people responsible for the things they do. I'm sorry. You know, there's a lot of handouts going on and there's a lot of special things that people are getting while the rest of us stand here and we're ignored, or even worse than that, we're insulted --

RUSH: Exact --

CALLER: -- by the conservatives and the liberals.

RUSH: I'm telling you, he is voicing exactly the element of this that the establishment has not yet figured out, and that is the class aspect of this. I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. In order to detail this, remember here what he said in this call, and I'm gonna share with you some thoughts from both Charles Murray and Angelo Codevilla about this in the monologue section of the next hour, because Rich here is exactly the kind of voter and citizen Murray and Codevilla have analyzed and explained. And it's uncanny the class aspects of this. It's not that having class divisions is new. It's the way they manifest now versus the way they did not used to manifest just a short time ago, a generation or two ago.

In just the last few days I have heard Cruz add reference to jobs at the very end of his pitch.

Trump is more of a developer than a builder. He does retain control of some of his properties, but more often he has partners. He’s also a visionary and in many respects, a big time gambler. He has had both successes and failures, but you’d never know it by listening to some of the people on this forum. We also need to be concerned about the character and honesty of our candidate. Trump is a mixed bag in that regard. He has made many promises in the past that he did not follow trough with. Of course, almost any candidate will have flaws and positions we don’t agree with. I want to be rid of Obama and win a decisive victory for conservative values and the future of our country as much as anyone, but I don’t expect any one man will be able to do it alone.

Yes, but if it’s Trump vs Hillary, or Trump vs any Democrat, I’m all in for Trump.

Hi Jim-- Today's my birthday and you just gave me a fine present!

Trump is not perfect by any means, but he is capable and loves America and Americans.

I think he will do a lot of what we all want if he is elected.

Jim, I’ve gotta hand it to you. After all these years, you show us once more that you’re a master at getting to the root of a thing, and laying it out in language that is clear and unequivocal.

That is one of the best explanations I’ve seen of why Trump is dominating this election.

Great post!

I say they should have thought of that before TRUMP. It’s every man for himself now in that damn Senate and House run by putzes everywhere. Hear me, John Cornyn, Mitch McConnell, McCain, Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy.

The conservatives have been shuffled off to the time out corner.

Get up America. Get up Washington. Pull up your pants and run for your seat in office like an American patriot. Line up with TRUMP and you survive. Otherwise, go home.

You have completely MISSED the Revolution. You must really be in the dumper. Fighting on the wrong side is rarely a virtue.

Thank you Jim.

I know he isn’t perfect but A Pure Conservative who can not stop our slide and can not get things done is not our biggest need now.

I feel better knowing you are willing to give him a chance. I have been committed to his support since early fall and really solid since a rally in November. Of course I would accept Cruz, but am happy to wear and display TRUMP bumper stickers, shirts and hats!

Now we have to plan how to encourage him to do things we want. I think he has received the message about more careful language...loud and clear.

Voting for a self centered narcissistic buffoon who historically has held opinion that are diametrically opposed to everything conservatives hold dear is not fighting a revolution it’s being emotionally played as fools. The same people who skewered Romney and his supporters for being ultra east coast pro abortion, anti gun, pro gay rights, pro socialized medicine liberals are now falling all over themselves to vote for a Romney clone with bad hair and a foul mouth. But enjoy your little revolution all the way to 8 more years of leftist rule and a judiciary lost for a generation.

“Am I coming around to like Trump? You can bet your sweet bippy I am. And if he gets it, I’m all in for Trump!”

I voted for Cruz every time he was on a ballot.
I like Trump and Carson, and, I would gladly vote for either
one. I’m not going to put Cruz, Carson or Trump down. Rubio,
cockeyed jr. and the rest, I could care less about. But if
for
some reason Rubio, cockeyed jr. or Romney end up on the
ballot I guess I’ll have to hold my nose and vote for
the
lesser of two weasels, again, for the ninth time.

It takes a business leader like Trump to really FEEL the damage of over-regulation. I’m glad that Rush Limbaugh got into manufacturing too with his tea business. Until a guy gets his hands in the cogs and sweats out regulators, he’s just sleep walking.

Even a forum like this — you also got a taste of oppressive government.

Also ‘back to basics’ ...

Trump supporters should remember that Cruz supporters deeply love our nation.

And versa visa ...

Cruz supporters should also remember that Trump supporters deeply love our nation.

I repeat what I told Jim Robinson ...

And back to basics ...

Trump supporters should remember that Cruz supporters deeply love the USA.

And Cruz supporters should remember that Trump supporters also deeply love the USA.

Nehemiah rebuilt the walls in 52 days.
That means by mid March of 2017 things could be well on their way to being fixed.

Nehemiah’s wall is a metaphor for the wall we need to rebuild here in multiple dimensions.

Nehemiah had zero tolerance for those individuals who objected the building the wall or refused to get to work.

I would like to see Donald Trump punch Mitch McConnell in the nose and give Paul Ryan a wedgie right on the floor of the United States Congress.
