Sen. Ted Cruz speculated Sunday that Republican presidential rival Donald Trump might be delaying the release of his tax returns because of possible ties with the mob.
"Maybe it is the case that Donald, there have been multiple media reports about Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia," Cruz said on "Meet the Press."
"Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported," he added.
Cruz repeated the suggestion on ABC's "This Week," seemingly stunning host George Stephanopoulos.
"Business dealings with the mafia?" Stephanopoulos asked, incredulously.

Glen Beck will rue the day he allowed Cruz to glom on to him.
I thought it was the other way around. I thought Beck and Barton glommed on to CRuz Sr, then went for CRuzio.
So the tax return is itemized as in “mafia payoff” or “mafia payout”?
I ‘speculate’ that Cruz thinks winning his home state isn’t enough, on Super Tuesday, so he reaches back a fires a ,’Hail Mary’
And Trump was denied a Nevada license; as I understand it, mainly at the instance of Steve Wynn.
As for NJ, yes Trump received a license for gaming in 1990. His claimed $1.3 Billion was found by the NJ gaming commission to actually be $206 Million.
Ted Cruz seeing his dream slipping away has now gone over the line into total sleaze. Maybe GW Bush was right when he decided not to Give Cruz an influential position in his administration. Maybe there’s a reason why he said he never did like the guy.

Someone told Ted Trump filed his returns on form 1040 Slee Zee and he fell for it.
And you might find out that your dad, and his dad and his dad went to these places in their youth. Nothing has changed.
Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them. He is another all talk, no action pol!

I suppose that like Moses, we are only glimpsing Cruz’s ‘hinder parts’.
No discussion of the threats facing America, from the lawless, anti-Constitution Democrat Party, to ISIS, to the spiraling debt, to the porous border - it’s all ignored in favor of gotcha questions, innuendo, personal attacks, and “political horse race” BS.
We are so screwed.
