Donald Trump Only Candidate to Address 1400 Indianapolis Workers Whose Jobs Are Being Sent to Mexico

During tonight's CBS Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump was the only candidate to address the news that Carrier will be sending hundreds of American jobs to Mexico.

The GOP frontrunner said that under a President Trump, Carrier would stay and "build in the United States because we are killing ourselves with trade pacts that are no good for us and no good for our workers."

Video footage emerged yesterday, which went viral, capturing the anger and heartache of 1,400 Indianapolis workers who were informed that they soon would be out of work, as their company will be sending their jobs to Mexico. The New York Post described the video as "stomach-turning."

The company representative tried to quiet the crowd, as workers of different races and ethnicities cried out in outrage and despair. "Let's quiet down," the company representative said in the video.

Trump brought up Carrier's move to Mexico, not just once but on two separate occasions during the debate.

Early in the debate, Trump said:

I'm going to bring jobs back from China. I'm going to bring jobs back from Mexico and from Japan, where they're all -- every country throughout the world -- now Vietnam, that's the new one. They are taking our jobs. They are taking our wealth... We're going to bring that money back. You take a look at what happened just this week, China bought the Chicago Stock Exchange, China, a Chinese company. Carrier is moving to Mexico, air conditioning company. Not only the ones I talk about all the time, Nabisco and Ford and -- they're all moving out.

I’m assuming you didn’t watch last night’s debate. Trump, in bring up the Carrier situation, was asked a question to which he responded by explaining how as president he would meet with the Carrier management and get them to rethink moving. He spoke of levying tariffs and other options that would be available to a POTUS (including the present one who’s done nothing) That’s DOING something to keep jobs in the USA.

Oh, you didn't hear how he'd go to the company, when his Constitutional authority was questioned, "I'm going to tell them, 'Now I'm going to get consensus from Congress and we're going to tax you,'" Trump said. "'So stay where you are [in Mexico] or build in the United States.' Because we are killing ourselves with trade pacts that are no good for us and no good for our workers." I'm sure that would help the company!

How about the regulations that are sending them out of the country?

"U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly says the head of the Carrier Corporation could not point to one federal regulation which the company says was responsible for its decision to relocate facilities in Indianapolis and Huntington to Mexico."

A Clintonesque statement from an Indiana democrat fanning the flames back home. And you take this at face value?

Has the Carrier CEO denied it?

So I guess we not need to worry about the Second Coming, considering Trump is going to be able to manage accomplishing everything he has promised!

That’s DOING something ...

That's saying he will do something under hypothetical future conditions. That's totally different from what I was discussing.

I’m Exhibit A.

And it’s not hate, it’s utter contempt of ‘The Face of God’ cult members such as you.

Just because I don’t always express it, don’t doubt for a moment the contempt I feel when seeing your disgusting, deliberate lies, promoted under the supposed Christian banner ‘The Body of the Spirit’.

Well, what Mr. Trump speaks of doing is consistent with what he has done over decades to build his empire. He’s a tough negotiator but works to come up with solutions that benefit all the parties, especially the parties on whose behalf he is negotiating. That’s what leaders are supposed to do. He’s not exactly in a position as merely a candidate for a party’s nomination to enact tariffs, or otherwise create incentives for companies to keep jobs in the USA, is he?

What you spoke of initially was Trump putting up his own money to support the Carrier workers whose jobs are being moved to Mexico, which harkens to the left’s positions, that the rich should pay for their ‘good intentions.’ What Trump proposed at the debate was in the future to provide incentives for American companies to keep jobs here so the workers can earn their incomes rather than being supported either by welfare or by the wealthy. Sounds reasonable, and dare I say, conservative, to me.

As long as Americans are willing to sit on their butts and buy the cheapest crap made this will be the status quo. We live in a world where you don’t repair anything, just buy a new cheap POS.

Product are not marked so you can determine where yhey are made quickly. For instance the Daisy Red Ryder BB gun is made in China now but if you pick up the box and look it doesn't say that at all. If I were President I would make manufactures clearly put either "Made in USA" or "Not Made In USA" on all products. Or be subject to heavy fines.

Take pride my < expletive deleted > Made in China now what a crock.

From Wiki.....
“Under §304 of the Tariff Act of 1930 as amended (19 U.S.C. § 1304), every imported item must be conspicuously and indelibly marked in English to indicate to the “ultimate purchaser” its country of origin.” According to the U.S. Customs, generally defined the “ultimate purchaser” is the last U.S. person who will receive the goods in the form in which it was imported.”
From e CFR
§134.11 Country of origin marking required.
Unless excepted by law, section 304, Tariff Act of 1930, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1304), requires that every article of foreign origin (or its container) imported into the United States shall be marked in a conspicuous place as legibly, indelibly, and permanently as the nature of the article (or container) will permit, in such manner as to indicate to an ultimate purchaser in the United States the English name of the country of origin of the article, at the time of importation into the Customs territory of the United States. Containers of articles excepted from marking shall be marked with the name of the country of origin of the article unless the container is also excepted from marking.
****************
I read this to mean that the law which dies in fact exist requires the origin to be on the article but not on the carton. You have apparently examined the carton and not found the Made in China label that is apparently stamped on the air rifle.

This is of interest to me because I regularly enforce the labeling requirements imposed by foreign standards on products exported from the USA. Strangely believe it but we export stuff made all over everywhere and it becomes quite confusing

Go to any Walmart and pick up a daisy red ryder BB gun box. I defy you to find a “made in XXXX” anywhere on the box. This was about a month ago packaging changes all time but a month ago absolutely no marking what so ever on the box.

TGOFP is most commonly known as a tool. The poster is projecting on to others what TGOFP is very guilty of.

TGOFP is trying to play being the victim without ever being victimized.

It is very annoying.
