As speculation swirls over whom President Obama could nominate to succeed Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, the White House is ruling out the possibility of an appointment while the Senate is out of town.
"Given that the Senate is currently in recess, we donât expect the President to rush this through this week, but instead will do so in due time once the Senate returns from their recess," White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz told ABC News. "At that point, we expect the Senate to consider that nominee, consistent with their responsibilities laid out in the United States Constitution."

NOW he gives a @#$@#$ about what’s laid out in the constitution!!!??
how do they say this with a straight face?!?!
guys, the republic is in the rear view mirror of he gets an ultra liberal on the SCOTUS.
I would like to know what is going on behind the scenes because you know Jarrett and Obama want someone on the bench
Count on it.
So he didn’t rule it out...
Disappointed but so unlike him not to try to push someone through.
BELIEVE THE OBAMA REGIME AT YOUR OWN PERIL. I, for one, do NOT believe it’s been ruled out.
I don’t think he can do. Didn’t it say if the Senate met while on recess he couldn’t do it? And then the Senate met Friday.
He knows the GOP will bend over when the time comes. No need for a recess appointment.
Neither do I. I am sure Obambi is chomping at the bit to put someone on the bench to rule on the upcoming immigration case.
Thank God we have Mitch McConnell up there fighting for the Constitution.
Does this require a sarcasm tag?
If, IF,
Quote:

IF they are consistent with “THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES” they will not approve!!!
But past actions, performance shows they will not take their oath serious!!!!
Mighty big of them. They couldn’t if they wanted to. We are in adjournment, not in recess.
It is all very confusing to me. There is an article that says they are going to be in recess for exactly 10 days.
There is absolutely no provision for a certain number of judges on the court, so there is no rush. There is no Constitutional deadline for an appointment, only that the POTUS SHALL appoint and the Senate SHALL confirm (or deny).
If 0bama were to get a lib appointed but the GOP finds a lucky rabbit’s foot and wins the General, the GOP POTUS can appoint as many judges as he pleases - there is no limit up or down.
EXACTLY
Beloved Lindsey said he would vote for a centrist
Obola is such an egotistical narcissist, nothing is scared, it’s all Allah Carte ethics.
The means justify the end.
He is a cancer on this country.

The tortoise, McConnell, better get a quorum together to reconvene the Senate, because the president’s word is not worth a bucket of warm spit.
Trump would be the kind of President who might shake it up. If Obama gets a 5-4 swing his way Trump could then try to bring it around with more numbers.
