This week, the president announced his intention to nominate John Roberts to be a Supreme Court justice.
His nomination has been met with widespread praise, from left and right. Nevertheless, there are some who have raised complaints that his two years on the bench provide insufficient record for them to assess (and attack) his jurisprudence.
That complaint misses the mark for three reasons.

The point is that he was on Dubya’s radar, dubya being from Texas and all.
No. That wasn’t the point of posting this.
Why do you think National Review posted it?
You have a lovely Sunday. My Grandkids want lunch.
???
Then I missed something someplace. Seriously.
Help me figure out what you are saying.
Lol...not even close.
However, it is interesting to see who his biggest advocates were back then and what their reasoning was.
Ted Cruz just went through one lie after another about Donald Trump on ABC. He said the ONLY person Trump has recommended for the court is his sisterâ¦out and out LIE. Last night, during the debate, standing next to Cruz, Trump named two good conservative judges, Judge Diane S. Sykes and Judge Bill Pryor.
Cruz has a problem with the truth.

Donald Trump on Kentucky clerk: Same-sex marriage the "law of the land" September 7, 2015.
"You have to go with it. The decision's been made, and that is the law of the land,"

Yes, I remember it well. Everyone thought Roberts was a good choice at the time. And I also remember folks shouting “Rubio for POTUS!” shortly after he came onto the scene. People have short memories!
People want to think the best and get carried away, only to swing back hard the other way when disappointed. There were a few red flags with Roberts but to be honest, there was a lot that appeared favorable at the time as well. Rubio, well, he seemed to have turned on his constituency in record time, I don’t think there were many here cheering him for President, not for long.
Yes but WE didn't know about Robert's work in helping gay activists win at the SCOTUS. Cruz -- who CLERKED with Roberts for Rehnquist, surely did know all about it.
Judge Judy would be more conservative than either Roberts or Kennedy.
