Donald Trump has over double the voter support of any Republican White House hopeful nationwide, according to a new poll.

Over 4 in 10 Americans are backing Trump's campaign after his victory in New Hampshire's GOP primary last Tuesday, according to a Morning Consult survey released Friday.

...

Trump is also viewed favorably by over 6 in 10 of his party's voters, pollsters found. He has a 67 percent favorability rating, while Rubio takes 62 percent and Cruz 61 percent.

“LOL, GEAUX TRUMP! GEAUX TRUMP BABY! Fun rally in Baton Rouge.”

I didn’t get to go but did listen on the radio. It was good! It showed how he is going to campaign in the South, and it will be VERY effective.

Wait until the media pounces on Trump, sometime after the nomination. Looks like another 4 years of democratic socialism for us.

Have you not been watching the media? Any current news piece on Trump competes to pick out what they consider the most outrageous statements as an excuse to ridicule him. Trump may be a showman but he has tapped into the psyche of ordinary Americans who have had enough of illegals, big government and non-stop "political correctness."

I would have liked to see the cross-tabs on this but you have to register, etc. Republican and Republican leaning voters is also the least reliable sample set. Likely Republican voters is a much better method. If you want to consider a continuum of data sets, the method in this poll does not just exclude democrat voters, it excludes, registered republicans, likely republican voters, registered independents, likely independent voters, leaning independent voters, leaning democrat voters, registered democrat voters and likely democrat voters. With that large of a demographic segment left out, I don’t find it odd at all to contemplate a high overall unfavorability number.

You miss what the poll shows. Over 4 in 10 Americans are backing Trump’s campaign after his victory in New Hampshire’s GOP primary last Tuesday, according to a Morning Consult survey released Friday.

Trump is also viewed favorably by over 6 in 10 of his party’s voters, pollsters found. He has a 67 percent favorability rating.

The 4 in 10 are Americans of all political stripes.

I take your point. However, a 40% favorability across the board leaves 60% off the table as possible unfavorables. I’m just saying they should have given us the favorable/unfavorable mix so you could see both sides of the coin. A 40% overall favorability sounds very good, but it needs that perspective to gain a full appreciation.

A good illustration is Obama’s current job approval numbers on RCP: 46% approval: Wow! 51 % disapproval: Not so wow.

I am certainly not doing the same thing.

I am not saying Trump is "too Christian". I am not posting pictures of him praying to make fun of a fool that believes in fairy tales. I am not calling his supporters religious fanatics because they believe in God.

Message from JR on the front page of FR....

I'm NOT fair and balanced. I'm biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.

I'm with JR. I'm biased toward God.

There is no place on FR for mocking His followers.

Why are Trump supporters attacked for supporting the man they believe can turn this nation around. The conservative candidate you support voted for Coker, TPA and is heavily backed by Goldman Sach and tax cheat Mercer so both candidates have flaws. Supporters of either have the right to their opinion.

But, but, but! I thought they said, everywhere, that Trumps unfavorables were something like 60%. Yet, this poll shows his favorability at 67%! That's quite a swing...if the polls showing his u.f. are to be believed.

Somehow, somewhere that's gonna leave a mark! DOH!

I add my agreement too. But, “Cruzholes” was to whom the post seems to be directed to. And some have earned that label IMO.

I have no problem with rudeness.

You can call me a "Cruzhole" or a "Cruztard". I don't care. You can call him a Canadian or a "maniac". I don't care.

What has no place on FR is calling him a "religious nut" or a "bible banger" or calling his supporters "snake handlers" or posting mocking pictures of him praying.

Have you not been watching the media?

The media have not yet begun to pounce on Trump. When they do he is finished.

As long as you put out false statements about Trump you are not in any position to lecture others.

Trump has never supported partial birth abortion. He has been pro life since 2011.

Yes.

And my “black” son in law is considering Trump. He loathes Hillary and doesn’t want to pay 95% taxes under Bernie !

“I’d prefer Trumps brand of politics (nationalism, government support for the middle class) over the left, but I’d hate to see the anti-government libertarianism streak of the Republican party be swallowed up by a more populist movement.”

We have 2 generations of young people who don’t even know what an America led by a Reaganite govt. looks like, much less how it operates. Fiscal responsibility is totally foreign to them. (Hence the popularity of Mr. #FeelTheFreeStuffBern).

Not only that, many have been indoctrinated by leftist professors. Look at Trump as a necessary stepping stone, a transitional President who can create a healthy economy that will show the indoctrinated youth that their commie professors were wrong.

There is also the fact that neocons have successfully stolen the definition of conservative. They are not conservative. Their policies have proven to be radical and ruinous and are rejected by the diminishing middle class.

Not sure they "stole" the term "conservative" as much as they have turned conservatism into a kind of Phariseeism.

Donald Trump professes Christianity.

I'm curious what the dividing line is between a "Christian" like Trump and a "snake handler" like Cruz.

Are "Christians" the ones who had parents that were Christian and who have stepped inside a church a couple dozen times in their adult life and the "snake handlers" are the nut jobs like Cruz who actually believe in all of those fairy tales?....Who believe in all that mumbo jumbo all the way to the point where they would actually talk about it in public?

Eeeeewwwwwww! Weird!

I’m so glad he and your daughter are coming around. You can be persuasive! They’re both productive members of society so it’ll be a no-brainer for them in the end.
