Donald Trump leads in Florida, but Marco Rubio is in second place, according to a new poll from Florida Southern College.

The survey found Trump maintains the top spot in Florida among registered Republican voters with 27 percent. Rubio is in second with 20 percent, followed by Ted Cruz at 12 percent and Ben Carson at 6 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is fifth with 4 percent, according to the survey.

Poll doesn’t include any data after Rubio pulled his Bud Dwyer... I would like to see the numbers now.. Rubio’s not even winning his home state in polling.

Yep, Bush will still be around come Florida if I had to put money on it. Rubio’s Bud Dwyer in the NH debate sunk him. Time will tell, but I see no way he comes back.. he had his moment coming out of IA, and he blew it.

I don’t like either of them, but I honestly would not write Bush off. I personally thought Christie was the only mainstream establishment guy who could stand toe to toe against Trump and have at least a chance of beating him head to head, but don’t think for one moment that Bush is out of this thing yet, as much as I may dislike his stands on many things, he’s not going away.

I’m seeing SC private polling post-Rubio-robo-glitch. Today, it’s still:

Trump
Cruz
Rubio
Bush
Kasich

And Kasich is really challenging Bush for 4th. This will be fun to watch. It will be hilarious if Jeb places 5th behind Kasich.

Private polling today in Florida shows:

Trump
Cruz
Rubio (1 point behind Cruz)
Bush (7 points behind Rubio)
Kasich (2 points behind Jeb)

So Rubio has now fallen to third is his home state? The Bud Dwyer repercussions continue.... Even Ted Cruz is managing to win his home state polls at this point.

Rubio will continue to fall IMHO, I could eat crow and he could somehow save himself, but that exchange with Christie is literally so damning, I just don’t see how. Political Science majors will be studying that exchange for decades. It truly was a political Bud Dwyer moment.

I think Trump will pick Scott Brown for VP.

LORD above, I hope not! Scott Brown is a gun grabbing RINO of the FIRST ORDER. Trump would do so much better with a female Governor. Whatsherface from SC, Nikki Haley? Or maybe even Palin, but I doubt that one. How about the female Governor from Arizona? Too bad Trump has fired the slime so much at his competitors for any of them to become the Veep as is normal in many past elections. Reagan picked GHW Bush and HE later picked Quayle.

No, not another easterner, and certainly not a Canadian.

He will pick either a westerner or a southerner.

Jeb! is going nowhere in FL, but at least he’ll take away some votes from Rubio.

I can’t stand the Bushes — I resented the fact that Reagan chose HW over a solid conservative like Paul Laxalt. The rest of the Bush legacy has emanated from this “accidental presidency” that rode like a parasite on the back of the Reagan revolution. I liked W better and did vote for him and support him, but Jeb is no W.

But you are absolutely correct. You can’t count out Jeb Bush. If there is one thing Bushes have proven themselves to be good at, it is getting down and very dirty in SC when their backs are against the wall. I hope I’m wrong, since I want both Bush and Rubio out of this race.

Trump, Romney and Brown are essentially all the same candidate. They share the typical northeastern RINO values down the line.

You impute your thoughts to me. Just saying read up on Gov Martinez—make your own judgments and I will make mine. Thank you.

You ignored all positives of the governor from NM, and posted ONE news about a party she attended? How does that matter? I am not in any way connected with the governor. My sole purpose was to point out the 4 pluses she brings to the ticket. And let posters make intelligent comments.

Susana Martinez (born July 14, 1959) is an American attorney and politician. She is the 31st and current Governor of New Mexico and current chairman of the Republican Governors Association. A Republican, Martinez was elected Governor on November 2, 2010, and was sworn into office on January 1, 2011, becoming the first Hispanic woman governor.
Born in El Paso, Texas, Martinez is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. After graduating from college and being admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, she began her career as an assistant district attorney for New Mexico’s 3rd Judicial District in Las Cruces in 1986, before being appointed deputy district attorney in 1992. She then ran for District Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, in 1996 after joining the Republican Party and defeating her former boss; she served three terms as district attorney from 1997 to 2011.[citation needed]
After incumbent Governor Bill Richardson was term limited, Martinez declared her candidacy for the governorship. She won in a five-candidate Republican primary and went on to defeat the former Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico Diane Denish with 53% of the vote in the general election. Four years later, she was reelected in a landslide against Attorney General Gary King. She is the first woman to be elected Governor of New Mexico and the first Hispanic female governor in the United States. In 2013, she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world.

I did no such thing...I just suggested having a look at the whole picture. Actually I gave to her campaign for governor and so I am a bit put off at your conclusions about my thinking.
