We made it out to Olney today. Main roads were great after a week of cleanout. The State instead of just plowing, is putting the snow in dump trucks and hauling it away. That is one reason Snowmagedden 2010 seemed worst that this snow fall.
Also this snow fall was a light, dry snow that compacted to smaller mounds.
But, Lurker Jim's road was so bad early on 2 snow plows got stuck. The COUNTY cleared a single path with a front end loader.
About half of the snow is gone after some warm weather. The owner of the shopping center used a bobcat to clear the sidewalk up to the corner. On our left flank the sidewalk has 5 foot of plowed snow.
In attendance were Fraxinus, Lurker Bill, Lurker Jim and myself. Lurker Jim took the pictures.
Temp was in the low 30s, no wind, and a lot of sun. Perfect day for a FReep
DC Master Ping List
We are still in Olney after 10 years. No moonbats.
I’m so happy I left D.C. after the Usurper was installed by the uni-party. I’ll never go back.
Great pictures - thanks for being there!
Thanks for the pics and for being there for the rest of us in honor of our troops.
It was just a matter of closing a tab following the Snowmageddon link, you were one / away from perfect.
Nice to see the Olney threads again.
Thank you for being there all these years.
I was a camp counselor at Camp Waredaca one year!
And now your neighbors all know!
Can you please add me to your ping list. I’m up in Harford County but might be able to swing down and join y’all sometime.
Thanks
Ten miles north of the Mason-Dixon we had 28 inches of snow, yes, a deeper single snow than either of the Snowmeggadon storms but they left a combined total of 45 inches just four days apart.
Great melting today and even more expected tomorrow.
Bravo. I like your tag line. Reminds me of Savage’s liberalism is a mental disorder. Your line is more polite and more accurate.
Looks freezing in the pictures.
During the 2011 blizzard, while I was still shoveling snow in Columbia, I knew 4 guys who insisted on going to work near Fort Meade. Each of them were stopped by the state patrol, given tickets, and sent home.
So I guess this years storms were larger even than the 2003 single day record snowfall?
I don’t know how deep the snow was in the DC/Baltimore metro area in 2003.
Up here it was 20.5 inches. My recollection is that Baltimore got more, but I don’t think it was as much as last week’s storm.
Some lady called Rush and told him she was making T-shirts with that line.
Great seeing you guys! All of you are so awesome!
Where are the moonbats? Don’t they have anything to complain about bringing our boys home? Can I stand Across the street and start some trouble, hehe
Glad they are gone though, much nicer for you guys :)
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
God Bless you all! And God Bless our Veterans!
Sending hugs to you all!
