Oh Dear – Mark Levin Credibility Melts Like Glenn Beck Tears (tr)
The Last Refuge ^ | January 21, 2016 | sundance

There's something initially angering that becomes very sad when a fraud is revealed.  Tonight on his radio show Mark Levin was forced to admit the son of his fiancee is a full time staffer for Senator Ted Cruz.

After spending weeks attacking anyone who critiques candidate Ted Cruz, the motives of Mark Levin now take full sunlight.   He should be ashamed, VERY ashamed.

No, Mr. crony-constitutionalist, lying by omission is not the least bit funny.  Nor is deception toward your audience when you do not disclose your own conflicts.   Especially when we consider the hours Levin spends railing against the internecine family associations like George Will and his wife working for Scott Walker.

Crony politics is apparently alive and well amid the Mark Levin radio show. Perhaps he will tell the audience how much advertising money he takes from political campaigns?  Or more specifically entities with a vested interest in political campaigns?

Think he'll fess up now that he's busted?

Nah, me neither.

He's got another book to sell...

Wow. Just Wow.

The campaign of Donald Trump continues to expose the "Decepticons".

Actually, Rush has been very fair. As for Levin, it’s called conflict of interest. It doesn’t give such a good impression

I came to Free Republic because I am a Conservative. Now 1 see people trying to destroy a serious Conservative because his fiancee’s son works for the most Conservative candidate. Do any of you Conservatives have actual family members who would work for Sanders if had the chance? I would bet anything. Mark Levin lives near the Capital where a large percentage of people work for politicians. His potential stepson could have easily worked for Pelosi or Schumer. Would that make Levin a Democrat? I can’t understand how some here want to destroy a mans credibility because a potential family member works for someone. I admit I am a Cruz supporter myself and my reasoning is the next President is going to be appointing more than one Supreme Court justice. I know Cruz will appoint Conservatives. I like Trump but can anyone say with any certainty who he would appoint? Look back at what the last self described compassionate Conservative did and gave us Roberts. Even one more Liberal Judge and we are through as a Country.

I listened to him. He only did so occasionally or barely. Anytime he spoke about any campaign, he should have led with it.

The same with Levin.

So Levin has a dog in the fight; a family member that works for the Cruz campaign

If and when you marry your fiancee, her relatives enter your family.

Before then?

How many times have you heard some guy's #3 GF tell her friends "we're practically engaged"?

Being divorced recently and being engaged at the same time is an unstable phase of life. HER family members are not your family members - not yet, anyway.

And when you do things to favor or enhance the prospects of these "almost but not quite yet family members", sometimes you make poor choices.

What has Mark Levin brought to the discussion of this race that can’t be heard elsewhere? What unique, incredible insight?

Talk about ‘cult of personality’ Levin is worshipped as a God, or standard-bearer..but not ONE mention of something unique he has had to offer during this primary season.

There are thousands of cases that find a person born abroad to be naturalized. We don;t have to settle an NBC case on some other basis, for Cruz.

Your homo marriage is a good example. Maybe SCOTUS will find that "natural born" means "naturalized", just like it found homo marriage in the 14th amendment. SCOTUS is a disgrace anyway, who says it can;t write out the NBC clause, amending the constitution, by fiat. After all, Obama proves that Congress already did, and we all know the constitution is written on toilet paper.

Some defender of the constitution you turn out to be. Subversive, that's what you are. You spit on your country.

If anyone thinks that the fact that Levin’s fiance’s son works in Cruz’s senate office is going to influence Levin’s analysis, you’re insane. Or you’re simply a shill for a primary candidate.

Before long everyone of us conservatives will be trashed to oblivion”

Oh the irony.

That’s fair—but Will (whom I’m no fan of) at least disclosed it. Levin not only didn’t do that, but he cried dirty tricks for another campaign, very reasonably, looking to do so (presumably if Levin declined to do so himself).

Ethically (not legally) what he did was wrong. Of all people, he should have known better

The son of his fiancé? C’mon? How tenuous is that?

He may barely know the guy.

For example, 10-15 years ago my mom remarried a good guy who has five adult kids.

I don’t know any of them by sight and haven’t ever met a couple. That’s just the way it is.

Levin hasn’t lost credibility.

No doubt about it. Levin is out of line on this.

I think the reason it’s an issue is Levin isn’t disclosing the connection when he’s talking politics. That’s really the issue. It’s not about him changing stripes, it’s about disclosure.

Some will interpret that as trying to “destroy” Levin or as “trashing” Levin. Why they would do so is really only known to them. Seems a little criticism of Levin is simply not allowed to be uttered. That’s as disgusting as anything.

That would be his future step-son. To be his future son-in-law he would need to be engaged to Mark’s daughter.

I’m afraid the wars against Cruz and Trump will knock each other out and we will get stuck with Rubio or Jeb.

Exactly! I think that's the only plan the GOPe have left. They've tried everything else and nothing worked.

The establishment won't be so easily deterred. They want Jebby and they'll keep trying until they get him!

A couple other threads mentioned that Levin has offered $5,000 reward to get the name of the person who “outed” this information. If true, that’s some nasty stuff.

You missed the point. Trump wasn’t ‘bragging’ about it. He was exposing it- saying ‘I KNOW this because I’ve done it.’
