Donald Trump unloaded on Sen. Ted Cruz, saying, "I'd do the public a big favor" by suing Cruz over his eligibility to be president.
-snip-
Stephanopoulos then said, "But you know, the person who sued him probably doesn't have standing, a lot of legal scholars-." Trump interrupted, saying, "That's all right. There will be a lot of people who sue him who do have standing."
"Say you have standing, why don't you file the case," Stephanopoulos asked. Trump responded, "Oh that's an interesting case. Wow that sounds like a very good case. I'd do the public a big favor."
-snip-
Stephanopoulos then asked Trump if he was going to put his money where his mouth is, and Trump said, "Well it's a good idea. Maybe I'll talk to them about it. I'd like to talk to Ted about it, see how he'd feel about it. Cause you know, when I file suits, I file real suits okay."

FerociousRabbit,
Many thanks for the info on what trump did back then!
What got trump off of 0’s trail?
How did 0 and his minions shut a guy like trump up?
Bribery? Trump didn’t need any more money.
Blackmail?
Or ... He stopped the search because of something he found
No more reason to search

Not really. 0’s goons got to anyone that could have pursued it any further. See butterdezillion’s post.
But fuddy sleeps with the fishes.
The question is which fishes.
As far as you know...
Typical lib move... Hide behind lawyers.. After quoting a Harvard Constitutinalist.. Mr trump.. I have had enough Harvard Constitutinalists.. To last a lifetime.
I know that. That's why I said "being accepted as true". The fact is that it was accepted as true, and the "birthers" made such a big deal out of that, the other parts of the argument went away.
What I'm saying is that because Obama had to "prove" he was born in the US to make the problem go away, doesn't that mean Cruz would have to do the same?
The only thing I do know is that it's bizarre that there still isn't a clear definition of eligibility, and we're on the cusp of no rules. And with that, we lose a lot of what's left of the exceptionalism the Constitution gave us as a nation.
Per billm, Cruz lost his Canadian citizenship when he voted in a US election.

Billm sister was dual Canadian US, voted in a US election, and lost her Canadian citizenship on account of it.
And that’s a bad thing?!

“...But Obama is the only foreign-born person who was actually inaugurated. That would make Obama critical to Cruzâs case - which is why this could royally blow up in the face of Obama and his handlers, if Cruz and Trump play it right.”
That’s what I am hoping also, that Cruz and Trump turn the spotlight onto 0.
Good points; now the don has to go through with it.
Get the Dems to put up a stink, then unload the 0 issues on em.
because he’s full of bluster.. hot air.. and bluff
he talks a game he’s never played...so to speak Up and Down The Line as a matter of fact
And those millions of dollars raised? Are they all in escrow waiting to be returned?
People loved Reagan too. Your point?
Trump has spent a large part of his life either suing or being sued. I will never vote for him. He makes Romney look like William Buckley.
