Donald Trump Calls Chief Justice John Roberts a 'Nightmare for Conservatives'
ABC News ^

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has "turned out to be a nightmare for conservatives," and put some of the blame for Roberts' presence on the Court on 2016 rival Sen. Ted Cruz.

"Cruz fought like hell to get Justice Roberts in there. Justice Roberts turned out to be an absolute disaster, he turned out to be an absolute disaster because he gave us Obamacare." Trump told ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos on “This Week” Sunday.

Trump repeatedly went after Cruz, who served as a law clerk for Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist from 1996 to 1997, saying Cruz supported Roberts when he was nominated to the Court in 2005.

Trump noted that Roberts had two opportunities to overturn the Affordable Care Act, which was most recently upheld by the Supreme Court last summer, adding that Roberts "gave us Obamacare. Almost as much as [President] Obama himself."

"Justice Roberts could've killed Obamacare and should've, based on everything - should've killed it twice," Trump said. "Ted Cruz is the one that was promoting him."

It’s a good sign Trump can see the mess it’s put us in... means he’s much LESS likely to make a bad pick.

Then a fair question might be . . . would a truly conservative congress impeach him? Also, as I understand it a president can still be impeached even after his term of office thereby stripping him of his pension and benefits.

However the operative phrase is . . . “truly conservative congress”

I thought it worth the time to reply to specifics of your objection.

>>”Her ruling was identicle to her colleague, Sam Alito. “

They agreed on the ruling, but for different reasons. You can read the whole decision here:

https://goo.gl/xInXOe

Alito did not, in his statements, concur with her opinion on abortion or partial birth abortion in her argument. He agreed with her ruling, but for other reasons (”I do not join Judge Barry’s opinion, which was never necessary and is now obsolete..Our responsibility as a lower court is to follow and apply controlling Supreme Court precedent. I write briefly to explain why Carhart requires us to affirm the decision of the District Court in this case.”)

Further, “When Judge Barry has gone on record on women’s issues, it has been to rule in favor of abortion rights..”

http://blogs.findlaw.com/third_circuit/2015/08/meet-donald-trumps-sister-3rd-cir-judge-maryanne-trump-barry.html

Her opinion in this case was pro-abortion and against making partial birth abortion illegal. Alito concurred in the ruling, but not for the same reasons she gave.

That said, some people are slick, and elude detection. Roberts is one such.

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."--Hebrews 4:13

Sobering truth for me, who likes to try and hide things from Him...and everybody else in the world, because they do the same thing.

“On the subject of SCOTUS Nominees...

This is an interesting read.

Cruz later criticized Roberts, but it was too late.”

Cruz has lots of MISTAKES, like when hw went after McConnell ex post facto “ He LIED to me! “

Well, DUH.

Then on the 500% increase in H-1B visas. “ This needs to be “reformed” “

Uh NO Ted. The H-1B visa was designed by lobbyists with the specific intent to allow our country to be flooded with people from India and China who would work for low wages, and NEVER get a raise. Ted there are too many MISTAKES you have made. Your mistakes are deadly!

That McConnell one is crucial.

Ted thought he had a deal.

Replace McConnell with Vladimir.

“I thought I had a good deal.”

Idiot...
