Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz should be disqualified from the race because he isn’t a “natural-born citizen,†a fellow Texan claims in a “birther†challenge filed against the senator in a U.S. court.
Trump was right (again). This needs to be taken care of before we go any further. If Cruz is going to be the VP candidate, this matter needs to be settled now.
Even though I support Cruz I think this lawsuit needs to go forward. We need a ruling on that issue and the sooner the better.

Agreed. Just like the PP lawsuit will open them up to discovery and therefore their financial and electronic records must be turned over to the defense to prove their clients innocence.
Sometimes...lawsuits backfire on the ones filing it.
These are two cases that may just do that.
And Ted needs this to happen quickly. Trump and Cruz would win in a landslide together...and they are both smart enough to know this to be true.

The bottom line — we must anticipate intrigues by the Ruling Class. If Cruz can take down Professor Laurence tribe in a fair debate [no moderator, just a timer], then shazam! Problem goes away.
And it would be presidential of Trump to help compare Cruz eligibility with Obama’s and McCain’s.

No. There’s not a judge in the country that wants to hear an eligibility case against Obama. Probably plenty that would hear a case against Cruz. Life’s not always fair. McCain went for Congressional approval before he ran. He had the issue put to rest before running.
Only the SCOTUS has any standing to clarify this and even they may not. it may actually require an amendment.
That's ludicrous. The First and Second Amendments are under constant review by the courts and are hardly settled.
Much less an obscure line in Article II that has never been adjudicated in any form.

In the time between the certification of election by the several states and the certification of election by the Electoral College, only the Electoral College has standing to challenge the WINNER’S eligibility.
In the time between the certification of election by the Electoral College and certification of election by the House of Representatives (leading to an inauguration), only the House of Representatives have standing to challenge the WIINER’S eligibility.
Losing contenders, parties and citizens have NO STANDING.

I’m curious about that. Didn’t Nancy Pelosi sign Obama’s eligibility form?
Trump did not instigate this. Many of us have had doubts about Cruz eligibility after doing research on Obama’s eligibility. Cruz should have done something about this before he ran. I haven’t seen where his mother applied for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad.
He should show this and his passport. Not just attack people who question his eligibility.
Some of the Democrats have been saying for a long time that they would challenge his citizenship in court. Cruz knew this.
