Sen. Ted Cruz insists he'll deport 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. if elected president, but won't create a special force to do it.
Cruz's opponent Donald Trump has said he would create a deportation force that will go from "door-to-door" and remove all of the illegal immigrants from the country. Pressed by CNN's Jake Tapper over whether he would do the same, Cruz said there are already agencies to do that.
"We have a door-to-door force, it's called ICE and border patrol," the Texas Republican said.
-snip-
Pressed by Tapper to explain how he would remove an estimated 11 million people currently living in the country illegally, Cruz pointed to an 11-page immigration plan released by his campaign that proposes putting in place a stronger e-verify system, securing the border and creating stronger oversight of exit visas.
But Cruz didn't explain how he'd ensure everyone already here gets removed, and at one point accused Tapper of playing a "media game" by pressing him on the question.

This makes it sound like Trump dreams of an Einsatzgruppen that will roam the country eliminating illegal aliens.
Cruz is not proposing a "special force"?
Big Whoop. NO ONE is proposing a "special force".
Trump is clear that the undocumented Democrats will self-deport because they will find nothing is given to them here when he is President. No "special force" needed.

Dammit - I was hoping he had fully come around to side with Trump. I guess the illegals get to stay under him (or at least most of them).

WOW! Imagine that.
We don’t need the Trump police state to get rid of the illegals.

Awww... poor Ted... :-( Welcome to Campaigning 101.
I never hear Trump whining when people press him for questions. And clearly the media is not giving up on Trump’s “comment” on Cruz ‘ s NBC.

The “media game” thing was what he used when Megyn Kelly questioned him about his views on immigration. Seems like it is not fair for anyone to try to pin Cruz down with a definite answer on immigration.

You mean Ted Cruz will not create another new federal bureaucracy to do the job that another federal bureaucracy already has?
Only a liberal would be shocked by that.

Ted Cruz promises to follow the law, doing so will resolve the illegal immigration problem, below is just one the things that will insure most illegals will self deport:
Prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving financial benefits. On average, each household headed by an illegal immigrant in the United States receives over $14,000 in net government benefits per year, according to one study. This transfer of American taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants entices further illegal entry. Under a Cruz Administration, illegal immigrants will cease receiving government benefits.
You can find extensive info on the rest of what Cruz promises to do to resolve illegal immigration at the following link:

The only “special force” that has ever been proposed by ANYBODY with access to the powers of the Presidency was the “National Civilian Security Force” that was suggested by then-candidate Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, a special forces agency that was supposed to be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded, as the military.”
So far as can be determined, this “special force” has never been implemented or funded. Doesn’t mean that something like the Department of Homeland Security could not be turned into just such an agency.

The Clinton administration deported 12 million, Bush deported 10 million. What Cruz is saying is that every government agency that comes into contact with anyone here illegally has to report them to ICE, and they will be deported. They won't be able to get health care, welfare, drivers licenses or anything else without a government agency.
I agree with Cruz that many will self deport when all incentives are removed for them to stay. More illegals self deported during operation wetback than were deported through the program.

Big deportation police? IF only we already had a government law enforcement agency who’s job included deportation and dealing with illegal immigration...

I agree with much of that, but that will take time and lead to things like illegals pulling their kids out of school (maybe home schooling), staying dark, and hoping the next administration in Democrat or GOPe. They won’t immediately go home.
I still don’t like the idea of government NOT checking the legality of the 25 men that hang out in front of my Home Depot every morning and don’t seem to know English.

Nobody was taking illegal/legal immigration seriously until Trump came on the scene. For Ted Merkel Cruz it was 500% increase in h-1B visas and giving Obama unilateral authority to increase immigration through Obamatrade (basis his TPA vote... sneaky, devious and a knife in the back of American workers)
I know, never mind all that he is tub-thumping religion.

During Operation Wetback, local law enforcement would have been checking out those guys you describe. That is how it should have been all these years that the laws haven’t been enforced. That will be corrected.

If illegals already in America are refusing to leave, merely shutting off benefits or prohibiting their legal employment will hardly be sufficient incentive to send them packing to the border.
And considering that it is impossible to know how many potential sleeper cell terrorists are embedded with all those illegals, a specialized deportation force is the ONLY way to be sure that potential risks to our national security are REMOVED and removed promptly, and with confirmation.
"No, I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America. That's not how we enforce the law for any crime"
In time of war, when national security has already been compromised and endangered, that is EXACTLY what needs to be done, and without delay. And to conjure up the image of "jackboots at every door in America" is nothing but liberal fear mongering. Our intelligence agencies already know where to find the most likely suspects and what areas need to be focused on, and it's not "every door in America".
Give your head a shake, Ted. You need to re-think this and fast.

This is so stupid.
We already have a âdeportation force.â
Itâs called ICE.
