Pressed by Tapper to explain how he would remove an estimated 11 million people currently living in the country illegally, Cruz pointed to an 11-page immigration plan released by his campaign that proposes putting in place a stronger e-verify system, securing the border and creating stronger oversight of exit visas.

But Cruz didn't explain how he'd ensure everyone already here gets removed, and at one point accused Tapper of playing a "media game" by pressing him on the question.

This makes it sound like Trump dreams of an Einsatzgruppen that will roam the country eliminating illegal aliens.

Cruz is not proposing a "special force"?
Big Whoop. NO ONE is proposing a "special force".

Trump is clear that the undocumented Democrats will self-deport because they will find nothing is given to them here when he is President. No "special force" needed.

Dammit - I was hoping he had fully come around to side with Trump. I guess the illegals get to stay under him (or at least most of them).

WOW! Imagine that.

We don’t need the Trump police state to get rid of the illegals.

Awww... poor Ted... :-( Welcome to Campaigning 101.

I never hear Trump whining when people press him for questions. And clearly the media is not giving up on Trump’s “comment” on Cruz ‘ s NBC.

The “media game” thing was what he used when Megyn Kelly questioned him about his views on immigration. Seems like it is not fair for anyone to try to pin Cruz down with a definite answer on immigration.

You mean Ted Cruz will not create another new federal bureaucracy to do the job that another federal bureaucracy already has?

Only a liberal would be shocked by that.

Ted Cruz promises to follow the law, doing so will resolve the illegal immigration problem, below is just one the things that will insure most illegals will self deport:

Prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving financial benefits. On average, each household headed by an illegal immigrant in the United States receives over $14,000 in net government benefits per year, according to one study. This transfer of American taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants entices further illegal entry. Under a Cruz Administration, illegal immigrants will cease receiving government benefits.

You can find extensive info on the rest of what Cruz promises to do to resolve illegal immigration at the following link:

Big deportation police? IF only we already had a government law enforcement agency who’s job included deportation and dealing with illegal immigration...

If illegals already in America are refusing to leave, merely shutting off benefits or prohibiting their legal employment will hardly be sufficient incentive to send them packing to the border.

And considering that it is impossible to know how many potential sleeper cell terrorists are embedded with all those illegals, a specialized deportation force is the ONLY way to be sure that potential risks to our national security are REMOVED and removed promptly, and with confirmation.

"No, I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America. That's not how we enforce the law for any crime"

In time of war, when national security has already been compromised and endangered, that is EXACTLY what needs to be done, and without delay. And to conjure up the image of "jackboots at every door in America" is nothing but liberal fear mongering. Our intelligence agencies already know where to find the most likely suspects and what areas need to be focused on, and it's not "every door in America".

Give your head a shake, Ted. You need to re-think this and fast.

This is so stupid.

We already have a “deportation force.”

It’s called ICE.

I guess Cruz thinks it is a good thing to agree with this straw man argument. I think it hurts him.

Mouth without might.

That is the problem with professional bloviators being in positions of power. They want to rush in the diplomats before the war is finished.

That is the same problem we have seen with previous administrations. Clinton dealing with the Middle East. Bush 2 dealing with open borders. Obama dealing with both the Middle East and open borders.

They spew a lot of rhetoric on what they will do to secure the border yada yada yada, but they fail to put any significant muscle behind the rhetoric to make it happen.

They do not want to put any muscle behind their words because that would imply committment, and committment would mean that they actually have to act. And acting could upset other factions. And they don’t want to deal with those other factions. So they run the same ole political pea-under-a-shell game, window dressing — a lot of talk, a lot of mouthing, and little might to act.

IMO, another recent ding, aside from his ‘more Amendments’ proposal: stronger e-verify system.

Yet another “shift it onto the back of XYZ”, where XYZ = biz. Just another way to scapegoat govt NOT DOING ITS JOB.

Stop the problem at the FRONT, not the MIDDLE/END. Terminate welfare, go after ‘sanctuary cities’/licenses/in-state tuition, DEPORT (and TRACK), raise a tax on international $$ orders. Just a FEW of these and you’d see an exodus like no other.

Not like these criminals are HIDING, they’re all around, in our face

[[Cruz pointed to an 11-page immigration plan]]

11 pages? That’s it? He should have one written up that is 11,000 pages long and when these reporters ask him how, hand them the ‘document’ and say “Read this- it explains how in detail”

"...Donald Trump has said he would create a deportation force that will go from "door-to-door" and remove all of the illegal immigrants from the country."

That is not only impossible, but unConstitutional. Exactly how would he do that? Send in his SS storm-troopers to any house when someone reports a suspected hispanic being illegal? or having a latino accent? Guess what? There are millions of hispanic legal residents/citizens in the US. Think how big that new bureaucracy would have to be. We're probably thinking about a who new sub-division after Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Here's the Duck's new agency: Hispanic Household Harrassment (HHH).

If The Donald Duck had a brain and knew what he is talking about, he would be discussing increased raids on businesses who hire illegals and givie huge fines to those who hire them. Kill the jobs for the illegals, they go away. It worked fairly well in the past until Bush and Obama curtailed those efforts.

He could also get the FBI to crack down on counterfeit IDs, not to mention building a double fence that are close to staging areas (towns) and highways. But raiding individual homes block by block is just ludicrous. The guy is an idiot and pandering to peoples' anger.

As stated in my post above, Google California border fence and see how effective it's been for years. It's the reason that Arizona then became the target for the illegal invasion in the Southwest. Ever wonder why New Mexico doesn't have such an influx? Answer: I-10 is so far removed from any area of population that the illegals can disappear into - other than maybe Los Cruces - same for west Texas. However, south Texas has many border towns. Again, a double fence with a road in-between for BP to cruise within those fences. Sensors, lights, and fines for businesses who knowingly hire illegals and the entry problem is fixed.

Those already here also has answers, but I'm tired of telling you folks what has worked in the past, but no longer used. FAIR and CIS will give you the answers.
