With all the noise and bluster coming from the Republican campaign, suggesting dysfunction among the Republican candidates, the fact is, Hillary Clinton is the most miscast character in the 2016 race. This is shaping up to be a change election, and nothing about a Clinton candidacy offers change. Period.
While Republicans are engaged in a noisy, boisterous process that is at the very least compelling to watch, the Democrats appear to be letting Clinton sleepwalk them into the doldrums of a campaign that will not be able to channel the emotions of the electorate. Her campaign will only feed the malaise that many voters feel and wonât do anything to create the enthusiastic wave to turn out Democrats in the numbers she will need to repeat President Obamaâs 2008 and 2012 victories.

On our anemic economy, Clinton would be an Obama 2.0; she doesnât even pretend to be something different or new. She is promising more of the usual Democratic freebies to more people. Nothing about her policies would stimulate robust growth; she barely even uses the word âgrowth.â Obamaâs weakening of Americaâs place in the world has caused anxiety about our national security, and Clinton canât disassociate herself from our foreign policy debacles. And in the specific instance of Libya, where Clinton was in charge, look what that got us. No one on the left or right thinks U.S. involvement in Libya is a formula for success in the future. Not to mention, at home, like Obama, Clinton is a divisive figure. She regularly calls Republicans her enemies, even comparing Republicans to âterrorist groupsâ; she buys into conspiracy theories that allow her to blame others for her mistakes; and she surrounds herself with partisan sycophants.

Wow.
this must be the monthly republican article at the Post :)
or as close as they come.
it’s better than nothing I guess.
What are your qualifications?
Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I’m a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I’ve seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU’RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I’m qualified?
Wouldn’t make it for dog catcher ...
Bears repeating. ;o)
IIRC, Ed Rogers is usually pretty solid.
WashPost must realize low readership at the beginning of the year, they’ll print some conservative opinion for balance.
If you check out Clinton’s campaign website, you’ll notice that her actual campaigning is limited to a handful of “organizing events,” and fundraisers, essentially just meeting with her echo chamber and true believers. She isn’t even scheduled to appear at the only “rally” on her calendar, instead Lena Dunham will lead that rally. Other events Bill and Chelsea are the headliners.
If forced to actually engage in the full rigor of a campaign, I doubt if she could take it, and may very well just have a stroke or nervous breakdown.
Damning by faint praise.
The best Herself seems able to provide is “more of the same” of whatever it was the Current Regime was doing that won the praise, hearts, and minds of Americans everywhere.
But take heart, the Washington Post shall bravely ride in and defend Herself against ANY Republican who shall be so bold as to challenge the coronation of Herself.
The Washington Post has not given up on Herself. They are merely lowering expections.
Go Bernie!
Others would say she's "a criminal," or that she "belongs in prison."
But the Washington Post says she's "miscast." You know, like a movie. Like when the put the somewhat long-in-the-tooth Roger Moore in A View To A Kill back in 1985 (he was 58 at the time).
She’s “miscast”...BARF! She should be “cast” into a dark, dank prison cell for her ongoing crime spree. The washington pest remains a pest.
But, but...she has a vagina!
Hillary is Obama with saggier boobs.
