Cruz to kill Iran nuclear deal, move embassy to Jerusalem on first day as president
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/29/15 | Paul Bedard

Posted on 12/29/2015 9:07:27 AM PST by Isara

Surging Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz is laying out what would be the most aggressive first day in office ever for a new president, starting with the elimination of "every single illegal and unconstitutional" executive action taken by President Obama.

In an epilogue to his father Rafael Cruz's upcoming autobiography, the Texas senator also said that he would rip up Obama's controversial deal with Iran, open an investigation into Planned Parenthood's abortion practice, end the IRS's "persecution of religious liberty," and shift the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

"All of that is on day one. It is an example of how quickly things can change," Cruz penned in his father's revealing personal story, A Time for Action, published by WND Books. The book's release date is January 5, but it is available on Amazon now.

"The left, and the media (who are in cahoots), try to convince us that nothing can change. They want us to give up. But strong presidential leadership, backed by the American people, can usher in dramatic change," wrote Cruz.

His day one five-point agenda goes much further than past presidents have been able to achieve and gives an indication of how swiftly he hopes to begin unraveling the Obama presidency.

Cruz also presented his short term plan to go even further by repealing Obamacare, expanding school choice, moving to "rebuild our military," doing more to reform the Veterans Administration, taking on ISIS with greater force and securing the border and ending the sanctuary city system that lets cities get away with harboring illegal immigrants wanted by federal authorities.

"Our country is in crisis," wrote Cruz. "I am convinced, it is now or never. There comes a point where the hole is too deep, the debt is too great, our liberties are too receded, and there is no going back," he added.

His Cuban-born father has been a star on the campaign trail for his own story of fighting Cuban authorities, coming to the United States where he discovered the American Dream and eventually becoming a born-again pastor.

Rafael Cruz has also become a voice for evangelical leaders seeking to stir the flock enough to get them to vote, noting at the end of his book that 54 million didn't vote in 2012. "Imaging if those people registered and voted," he wrote.

I could see him starting that process on Day 1, but I cannot believe he can ferret them all out and address every single one of them in one day.

Every Executive Order is available on-line so Cruz and his staff will have plenty of time to know just what they contain. Or even if they don't, cancel every Obama EO on day one. Cruz can always issue his own order on the off chance that he found out later that one of Obama's EOs actually did something worthwhile.

The Sultan in Washington will see to it that a maximum of the potential damage from that deal will be accomplished before the end of 2016. Iran already has access to that $150 billion, I believe and is surely going full speed ahead on nuclear weapons development. At some point Hussein has promised in the deal to lend our scientists for the so-called peaceful uses development of nuclear energy. The USA is also committed to protect the Iranian nuclear program from Israeli interference. If the Iranians cannot be assured by Sultan Hussein that the regime will not change in January 2017 i.e. that Mrs. Bill will not be the new Sultan surrogate then I would expect the breakout and Israeli confrontation to occur around the first quarter of 2017, in January if they can arrange it so that Hussein is still on the throne.

I would hope any candidate would rip up the Iran deal on day one.

At least Ted Cruz is not stupid enough to promise to re-negotiate the Iran deal like Trump is. And yes, walking away from it will mostly be symbolic since the other parties to the agreement will still follow through. But it's still the right thing to do.

"The cretin Obama will probably pardon every criminal, then leave the country for Ted’s inauguration."

You know...I'm really looking forward to seeing the expressions on the faces of McConnell and the rest of those vipers during that ceremony.

I don’t think Trump will move the capitol after BiBi criticized him for wanting to temporarily stop trojan horse Muslims from entering OUR country even though BIBI has his huge wall to do the same thing!!

That didn't sit well with Trump, did it? I fully expect that a President Trump will manage to alienate the few allies that the Obama administration leaves us within three months of his inauguration.

Trump cancelled a trip to Israel that would have been very beneficial to them. BIBI insulted Trump and there will be pay back. My question is how much was BIBI paid by Karl Rove to make such an asinine statement . I’m not sure BIBI thought that through. There wont be any moving an embassy.

This goes against US policy so, it’s an empty promise...

You're a low info type.

The president has the constitutional authority to do this. And even if he didn't, there is already a law The Jerusalem Embassy Act in place to do it.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/02/politics/ted-cruz-campaign-ad/index.html

We need to leave the Cruzers to their daily “olsteen-izing” and get busy supporting the candidate that can effect real change.

Cruz’s campaign can only influence a few diehards who believe that a real “Conservative” can whip America into a Christian Camp and put the perverts back under their rocks in a day. There will always be some for whom the tearful choke up and rehearsed platitudes are deal breakers. Plain talk and bald truth is too “rough”. And as far as Conservatives go, I think you’re right; there aren’t any. If there were, there would have been a lot of blood and guts on the floor of both Houses of Congress a long time ago.

Thanks for a rational post. I hope to see you on the other thread.

I agree with you there. Trump is extremely thin-skinned. Much of what he says and does is rooted in nursing of grudges and what he considers personal affronts.

More contempt for Christians from the liberal Trump fans.

Clrealy, you are clueless. The law already mandates the embassy be moved to Jerusalem. This administration uses a “security concern” excuse not to comply with the law.

To your point though, every Jew knows about this, so they know it is absolutely what the President can do whenever he wants to. So, they know the “security concern” is bogus, and a promise to move the embassy is valid, and easily done.
