Cruz to kill Iran nuclear deal, move embassy to Jerusalem on first day as president
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/29/15 | Paul Bedard

Posted on 12/29/2015 9:07:27 AM PST by Isara

Surging Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz is laying out what would be the most aggressive first day in office ever for a new president, starting with the elimination of "every single illegal and unconstitutional" executive action taken by President Obama.

In an epilogue to his father Rafael Cruz's upcoming autobiography, the Texas senator also said that he would rip up Obama's controversial deal with Iran, open an investigation into Planned Parenthood's abortion practice, end the IRS's "persecution of religious liberty," and shift the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

"All of that is on day one. It is an example of how quickly things can change," Cruz penned in his father's revealing personal story, A Time for Action, published by WND Books. The book's release date is January 5, but it is available on Amazon now.

"The left, and the media (who are in cahoots), try to convince us that nothing can change. They want us to give up. But strong presidential leadership, backed by the American people, can usher in dramatic change," wrote Cruz.

His day one five-point agenda goes much further than past presidents have been able to achieve and gives an indication of how swiftly he hopes to begin unraveling the Obama presidency.

Cruz also presented his short term plan to go even further by repealing Obamacare, expanding school choice, moving to "rebuild our military," doing more to reform the Veterans Administration, taking on ISIS with greater force and securing the border and ending the sanctuary city system that lets cities get away with harboring illegal immigrants wanted by federal authorities.

"Our country is in crisis," wrote Cruz. "I am convinced, it is now or never. There comes a point where the hole is too deep, the debt is too great, our liberties are too receded, and there is no going back," he added.

His Cuban-born father has been a star on the campaign trail for his own story of fighting Cuban authorities, coming to the United States where he discovered the American Dream and eventually becoming a born-again pastor.

Rafael Cruz has also become a voice for evangelical leaders seeking to stir the flock enough to get them to vote, noting at the end of his book that 54 million didn't vote in 2012. "Imaging if those people registered and voted," he wrote.

Don’t give up, Netz. This BS is an example of playing to the evangelical base, but that base of population soon runs out of gas outside of the South, as you well know.

Cruz seems entrenched in making the sale to IOWA evangelicals, as if there is no other constituency listening. By now, I would have thought he could maybe broaden his theme a tad, without coming back to this religious hot button theme, but guess not.

Not all evangelicals are in his camp, for one thing, and he wants to do well in Iowa. This Trump guy is competing, and he has plenty of evangelicals, and other faiths, or he would not be smoking the field in the South already.

I hope you are happy with Netanyahu. I am a great fan of his, and I have wondered what he is thinking when he hears comments like this.

Oh, no one REALLY believes that Israel should name Jerusalem its capital. Only those appealing to the evangelical base! Right, right!

“I could see him starting that process on Day 1, but I cannot believe he can ferret them all out and address every single one of them in one day.”

You need to realize that the work to prepare and produce (ready for signature) the many needed official “Rescindation” documents would be done well BEFORE INAUGURATION DAY. Ted Cruz is very serious about restoring the Constitutional Republic.

“Would he just sign a single EO saying: “All EOs issued by my predecessor are hereby revoked?” “ No. He can issue a single order saying “executive orders numbered such and such are hereby null and void.”

shift the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Not going to happen unilaterally and Cruz knows it. No country has its Embassy in Jerusalem and for good reason. The UK explains it this way:

"Jerusalem was supposed to be a ‘corpus separatum’, or international city administered by the UN. But this was never set up: immediately after the UNGA resolution partitioning Palestine, Israel occupied West Jerusalem and Jordan occupied East Jerusalem (including the Old City). We recognised the de facto control of Israel and Jordan, but not sovereignty. In 1967, Israel occupied E Jerusalem, which we continue to consider is under illegal military occupation by Israel. Our Embassy to Israel is in Tel Aviv, not Jerusalem. In E Jerusalem we have a Consulate-General, with a Consul-General who is not accredited to any state: this is an expression of our view that no state has sovereignty over Jerusalem."

The UK believes that the city's status has yet to be determined, and maintains that it should be settled in an overall agreement between the parties concerned, but considers that the city should not again be divided.[68] The Declaration of Principles and the Interim Agreement, signed by Israel and the PLO on 13 September 1993 and 28 September 1995 respectively, left the issue of the status of Jerusalem to be decided in the ‘permanent status’ negotiations between the two parties

Reality changes such promises as Cruz makes. The U.S. opposed Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem after the 1967 war. The United States has proposed that the future of Jerusalem should be the subject of a negotiated settlement. Subsequent administrations have maintained the same policy that Jerusalem's future not be the subject of unilateral actions that could prejudice negotiations such as moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

There is a reason Congress gives the President a wavier to its resolution that our Embassy be moved to Jerusalem. Everybody knows that it won't happen until the status of Jerusalem is decided.

It doesn’t take long for misguided anti-Cruz TROLLS to show up, I see. IMHO, you lack the intelligence and the wisdom that Donald Trump is displaying in running a de facto alliance with Ted Cruz. If we don’t derail this ongoing Cruz/Trump train, the CURRENT GOPe will be largely banished from the 2016 convention and constitutional conservatives can begin the process of excising this cancer from the Party.

What Iran deal? Never heard of one.
The Iran deal that Cruz and other Senators signed their constitutional rights of veto over to give Obama/Kerry the unconstitutional right to give Iran a nuclear bomb...and $150 billion dollars...and protection to Iran from Israel.

What did we get? Absolutely nothing. Not even the release of prisoners/hostages Iran is holding.

Ted Cruz is a fraud if not a traitor and he could have American and or Israeli blood on his hands someday as a result of this "deal" he is complicit in implementing.

When the time is right Trump will drop that nuclear bomb on Cruz's head.

Trump mentions that Iran "deal" in every one of his rallies...someday he'll drop the bomb on Cruz if he has to.

I would hope any candidate would rip up the Iran deal on day one. Heck, the Iranians probably ripped up their copy as soon as they received it.

As to moving the embassy— this is not a new statement for Cruz. But I think it is important to support friendly nations and show respect for them. If they say their capital is Jerusalem, who are we to dispute it? Go ahead and move the embassy.

Well, like a Trump supporter said recently, most of the opposition to Trump is based in “silly religious crap.”

The anti-Christian garbage from the Trump faction has ramped up dramatically, which I can understand, in a way. He got up on stage and waved a Bible, thinking Iowans would be stupid enough to fall in line. I suspect his supporters recognized it for the BS it was and didn’t care.

They dismiss the evangelical vote, but they’ll realize their mistake soon.

Is anyone confused about the body, the Senate of the United States of America?

There are almost no Conservatives there, and I’m currently NOT convinced there is even one there.

We have known this for years. The Senate is recognized as a total lost cause. We have kidded ourselves thinking there may be a select few Conservatives, but that hope has been dashed for me.

The Democrats there are hardened Leftists that can’t see any problem with Obama at all.

The Republicans there are hardened, and incredibly Leftist for folks who are supposed to oppose Leftists.

Into this mix comes the Corker Bill, that allows the Senate to approve of Obama’s Iran Nuclear deal with a vote of 1/3rd of it’s members rather than 2/3rds.

To gauge how Leftist the bill was, 100% of the Democrats voted for it. All but one Republican voted for it. Who was that Republican. It wasn’t Ted Cruz.

Cruz tells us he was smarter than every Leftist in the U. S. Senate by voting for the bill.

Sorry Ted, now you want me to think you’re on Israel’s side?

Trump was smart enough to say before AIPAC that he would not make a commitment to move our Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Whoever advised him to say that is right. Cruz is pandering and making a promise he will not keep should he get elected, which is doubtful.

He doesn’t have to ferret them out. He already has a list. This is one of the reasons I prefer Cruz over Trump, Cruz has more technical knowledge on how to do it.
