Another meaning of hung is suspended, and the jury is figuratively suspended as it cannot make a decision.

The article says that the riots in Baltimore about this were the worst since the death of Martin Luther King. But, I ask, how on God’s green earth can this thing be used by the Black Lives Matter crowd and the black rioters to complain about racial oppression when every single individual involved, from the mayor to the judge to the district attorney to the police officer, were all black themselves? I hope that the election of Trump and his “new tone†will finally take the politically correct scales off of people’s eyes to begin to question the failure of the black community in this country.

And to the people who thought this was the most winnable of the cases - the trial of the driver of the van is probably the one that has the best shot of a conviction. I think this was tried first because they hoped to get him to flip on the other officers.
Thankfully they tried an black police officer first so the first trial isn’t racially tainted. But it’s pretty tough to cry racism when you have a racially diverse group of officers, a black mayor, a black prosecutor, and probably a mostly if not entirely black jury. The situation in Baltimore is not as much racism as it is a population vs. the police force (and the opportunistic members of the population that look for an excuse to loot).
