Smug Cruz â The Full Recording of Ted Cruz Comments About Donald Trump and Ben Carson⦠Posted on December 11, 2015 by sundance A couple of short points (because the focus needs to be on his words) about this recording. Initially, when questioned Cruz denied the statement. Secondly, when questioned again by Megyn Kelly (last night) Cruz refused to take ownership of his words. This is a pattern, a long, historic, and very specific pattern. Pay close attention to his words.
Hereâs the full audio as referenced in the New York Times article (click orange arrow):

They’ve been anti-Cruz from the start.
THANKS
Did you see last night's thread where they thought his "executive order" to give the death penalty to cop-killers was A-OK?
Agreed. The Treehouse may not be so conservative after all.
What it looks like to me is a pretty big overbite.
Beyond that, I refer you back to my original post to you.
I just wasn’t paying attention before.
He has said this before. Nothing new and he wasn’t “smug”. It was not secret and he wasn’t “caught”.
So you don’t have to click Conservative Treehouse:

Then we're in trouble.
This is the Republican primary. Every candidate is out for him/her self, as it should be.
“The Conservative Treehouse is rabid pro-Trump.”
That explains the contents of the article vs the contents of the recording. Cruz said nice things about trump and carson and then described a solid strategy for winning the nomination. I don’t find anything offensive or inappropriate about this recording at all.
The left will hyperventilate about the nice things Cruz said about Trump. But I can’t imagine a conservative that finds anything wrong. But it’s a campaign and it’s the silly season for Trump supporters I suppose.
Cruz doesn't “own” it because he knows the media almost as well as Trump does. He is aware that they will do anything to cause a rift in what appears to be the most powerful political tag team the left has seen in a very long time.
Cruz and the Tea-Party/NRA/Evangelicals and Trump and his loyal and growing in number supporters.
They would be unbeatable as a pair. Cruz will do whatever it takes to keep that coalition together...even take a few hits like he is now. The Force is strong with us.
The oligarchs and their wretched allies and apologists will long be remembered should they be able to somehow stand in the way of the change that is so desperately needed in this country.
Rancid Pubies and the GOPe have been warned!!!!!
Please quote me words attributed to Cruz which are seen as an attack.
I listened too clip twice and heard nothing of an attack.
“Did you see last night’s thread where they thought his “executive order” to give the death penalty to cop-killers was A-OK?”
That is already law in most states, certainly in Louisiana. You can now unwind your panties.
And yes, I am A-OK with cop-killers getting the death penalty. As I think that punishment should be meted out to all murder. That was the first law God gave to Noah after he climbed out of the ark.
That a president can issue an executive order just like a king or emperor and have a cop-killer executed, which a state and local function, unless a federal crime has been committed? Nonsense!
And yes, I am A-OK with cop-killers getting the death penalty.
That's not the issue. The issue is Trump's authoritarian streak and his ignorance of the Constitution.
But, hey, his rabid supporters apparently do not care about those things.
Are you serious? Don’t bang on an honest man because you like someone else.
You mean like cruz’s amnesty support and TPP flip-flopping?

I’ll take that over palling around with the Clintons...
I think the concern is the idea that Trump thinks he could issue an executive order to the states requiring them to impose the death penalty in such cases. (And there are about a dozen states where there is no death penalty at all.) We have one president trying to bypass the Constitution via executive order already - we don't need another one.
