Ted Cruz on Sunday refused to address how he would handle the millions of undocumented immigrants already living in the country, despite hammering Marco Rubio this weekend for previously supporting a path to citizenship. Cruz refused to take off the table his own support of a potential path to legal status despite his cries against "amnesty."
"Let's demonstrate we can stop illegal immigration, we can protect our national security interests, we can protect our law enforcement interests," Cruz said after a campaign stop in Newton, Iowa. "Then once that's done, we can have a conversation at that point about whatever people remain here illegally."
Cruz has insisted the border must be secured before addressing proposals of how to deal with the millions of undocumented immigrants still living in the United States.

I don't care who the candidate is.
The Club For Geowth issued Ted his marching orders.
Typical politician.
GO TRUMP!!!
I agree with that. Send them home first. Then we can sort it out with green cards or something like the Bracero program.
Trump 2016
Is he playing politician? Outside of securing the border he’s not saying anything. Would he screw over the left or the right?
I’m not sure what this is about (or if it is accurate), but if it is, then Curz cant leave this hanging out there.
This is a huge issue this election.
Cruz is right. There are basic steps to be taken first before we can even go address the illegals remaining. Without securing the border, any deportations would just be met by a stream of more illegals coming right back over the border replacing them. Cruz is right, we have laws on the books already as well that need to be enforced, and with border security the majority of the illegals will self-deport (and this Mitt was correct on however he was never serious about securing the border like Cruz).
Go Trump!
OH!
Agreed. Shut border. Enforce current immigration laws on the books instead of making more. Enforce E-Verify and fine employers who hire them. Cut welfare bene’s. The emigration will start immediately.
Yup. We could deport deport deport ... but if the border is not secure, it’s wasted effort. Illegals will continue their invasion. The border *must* be secured first; it’s the top priority, the first priority.
People like BlackFemaleArmyCaptain are such Trump fanbois, though, that they trash Trump’s opponents without much thought. Expected.
TRUMP!
You are a liar. I’m so sick of the Trump-haters.
No one is trashing anyone. GROW UP and know that people have their own opinions about issues and they don’t have to always agree with yours.
Move along.
We don’t need a damned fence before we start enforcing our laws. That’s ridiculous. It’s a BS red herring. We need a fence and we need to enforce existing law. It’s not imperative that we do one before the other. That’s why I can’t trust this guy. He’s blowin’ smoke. Trump 2016.
I have had 4 highly educated and good citizen friends who could not get a visa. One from France, one from UK, one from Russia, and one from Mexico. They remained in their home countries following the rules to this day.
Until a white European or Russian has as much chance of getting a green card as a Mexican, African, or moslem, I oppose reform.
I know what Trump’s plan is for securing the border. What is Cruz’s plan for securing the border? Wall, fence, hope, prayer, another Congressional study committee?
There is no point in deporting unless the border is secure. Cruz is correct in saying that is the starting point. If you read his immigration policy, he says that those who have broken other laws and those on public assistance have to be deported first. With enforcement of our current laws, many will self deport. His law enforcement position is very clear in his immigration policy.
Amen! We all know both steps are important, what is telling is the reluctance of everyone but Trump to deal with the 30 million (or however many) elephants in the room
Typical Rino response. We can have a ‘Conversation’, Blah Blah Blah.
