The Club for Growth thought it had dented Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trumpâs chances in Iowa with ads accusing him of being a false conservative, but the billionaire businessman has surged back to the lead in polls, showing a staying power thatâs confounded pundits and fellow candidates.
The Clubâs battle with Mr. Trump is shaping up as an early test of his campaign with little more than two months to go before Iowa holds its first-in-the-nation caucuses.

‘80 was a landslide. Reagan won 49 states, IIRC.

He almost won the 50th state. I believe it was Mondale’s home state.

Or ignore him completely. They can't ignore him, because he knows when to throw the rabid "Poodles of 0bama" pack a hunk of red meat they can fight over.
Witness the slime NY Times "reporter" who's arcing out over how Trump dissed his dissability.
The Poodles reflexively played the Gimp Card. They couldn't stop themselves.

I have heard that some big northeast states are in play if Trump is the nomination. That is unimaginable. I doubt we’ll ever see another Reagan-type landslide in my lifetime, but a Trump victory may be more than just barely winning.
I think that is what scares the media and the GOP leadership. It is the reason they are trying to take him out.
Who knows what 2020 could bring if Trump Presidency can deliver on his goals.

people craving government hand outs and a lot of people already dependent on them.
And Trump has not said one word about shrinking entitlements that I know of. He talks about getting rid of entire agencies, but not about shrinking the handouts.

I think you could add one more thing; every week he says at least one very unPC comment, just to let all of us know that none of the PC SOBs have gotten to him.

Trumps biggest problems are the Republican elites. He has excellent support with Dems that are not too far gone and independents

‘84 was the 49 state landslide. ‘80 was very good, but not as good as ‘84. The only state Mondale carried was his home state of MN.

This is really good to hear!
The thing about Trump is I get the feeling he actually likes us Americans - at least most of us, the ones who carry the load.
Obama, Hillary, etc just figure we’re idiots to be manipulated, used, tax paying units.

Every week he says at least one very unPC comment to keep him in the headlines! Face it, he's a marketing genius.
