We four arrived at the Convention Center at 6:30. There were a good 50 protesters and counter-protesters out front, real whack Jo's (some chick with a megaphone talking about some galactic something or other).
Once inside, it looked like a good 8000-10,000, but I never got a good view of the full crowd. It was hard to hear him at times. He delivered his standard speech, "build the wall," beat China on trade, build up the military, get rid of Obamacare. He went over the latest polls, didn't bash Jeb, Carson, or Rubio.
He didn't say as much on the refugees as I hoped, but mentioned Paris and the prospect that a couple of the people were armed would have made a difference.
When he talked about beating Hillary, two chubby kids in front of us pulled out little 8 X 11 sheets of paper with Hillary's logo on it. I laughed and the twerp turned around. I said, "You're insignificant. The media can't show your stupid sign without getting the crowd in too." They just looked fat and clueless.
Overall, I've heard better speeches from him, but this was the first time in OH so it was meat and potatoes.
Thanks for your report. I hope to see him in New York at some point.
9/11 was traumatic for everyone here. People thought a meat truck had crashed when they saw the carnage on the ground. I remember walking home from work on the 13th and seeing a long line of ambulances going up 8th Avenue slowly, like a funeral procession, heading for the morgue at Roosevelt Hospital. It stays with you.
We were put in conference rooms with TVs at work on the 11th until they were sure as they could be that it was safe for us to go home.
May Trump lead us through these dangerous times to a better future for America.
Gee, thank you. That link got me to the Trump Family interview for my first viewing. It was fascinating. Just, wow!
I saw that pic and hollered out, “Jesus!”, before I could stop myself. That’s a good sized crowd.
Good work. Thank you.
and that folks is why the GOP and RNC fear Donald J. Trump. and they should...because we Americans are fed up with Politics as usual...we have had more than our share of Liars, Crooks, And Clinton's, Bush's, and never again do we want any person with the name HUSSEIN in the White House.
I will stay with Trump even if he goes 3rd. party, I will write his name in if Republicans refuse him the Nomination..
we are living in a very sad, scary World...I just totally FEAR for the future of America if Clinton's return to power...she is EVIL, EVIL, EVIL...AMERICA WILL NOT SURVIVE
911. I recall being at work when the planes hit. We were told to sign off early (AIG employees) so that the phone lines would have less activity.
I was sent home early too. When I checked my answering machine I had a message from my sons ex-girlfriend in NYC, it was HAUNTING. I can’t even describe how her voice sounded. I played it back over and over for months. It always made me cry. About the smoke, and the sounds and the emptiness of the area.
I’ll never recall the exact words, but I will never forget how the message made the situation in NYC so very real to me.
“America will not survive”
Well that’s the point, the GOPe will just do it in a kinder, gentler way.
No borders no sovereignty,nationalism etc.
NWO,it’s wats for dinner.
Thanks for the report.
Evidently the official count from the SS scanners was 14000.
Were there very many young people there?
ANOTHER GREAT PHOTO....THANKS FOR SHARING...
This is a great crowd and in OHIO...that is why Johnny Kasich is worried and scared...and he darn well should be...
wake up voters...The TRUMPet has sounded...I will thank our Lord tonight before I go to sleep for caring for him and sending his people to him...
The speech was not too different than the other ones I have watched on youtube. The crowd liked that he mentioned guns. I am glad I went and it is certainly encouraging to see so many people there.
well then I guess I’m glad I am the age I am...
I have less years ahead of me than I have had behind me.
As do I,which is why I’m ready to fight them tooth and nail.
Thanks for the link.
Man, those kids of his...
Everyone was so patient, waiting for it to start. I think you are right, that people feel at this point it’s the least they can do to go and be counted, no matter how inconvenient or tiring. Thank you for being there.
they would make a superb first family to be very proud of
VERY many young people, a smattering of blacks, Indians, Hispanics. But lots of under 30s.
He is clearly setting up the drive-boys with his 9/11 recollections.
