Politicoâs Kyle Cheney admitted that he fabricated a negative story about Ben Carson. At least, according to his own standards, he admitted the grievous journalistic sin.
In a story published early on Friday, Politicoâs Kyle Cheney authored a piece headlined âBen Carson admits fabricating West Point scholarshipâ with a subhed âCarsonâs campaign on Friday conceded that a central point in his inspirational personal story did not occur as he previously described.â
There were at least five major problems with the story:
The headline was completely false The subhed was also completely false The opening paragraph was false false false The substance of the piece was missing key exonerating information The article demonstrated confusion about service academy admissions and benefits
But other than that, A+++ work, Kyle Cheney and Politico.
It could take all day to parse the problems with Kyle Cheneyâs now-somewhat-cleaned-up hit piece on Carson, but letâs just look at his original introductory claims:

I’ve watched Ben Carson being “coddled” in interviews and debates .... Frankly, he talks like a “stoner”, an observation made by another Creeper ... Ben Carson gives evasive answers, smiles his $hit eating grin, and gets a pass because he’s black ... an inconvenient Truth ... Rick Perry got dumped in 2012 for one debate stumble ...Carson stumbles frequently, and gets casing applause because he’s black ... Allen West would be FAR better candidate than Ben Carson .....
“Freeper” .... cellphone text error ....
Well said !!!! Ben Carson (as a man) should be ashamed of forcing Rush Limbaugh to carry his water .... Brillianr doctor, inept presidential candidate ...
“Sadly, the damage is done”
And as with Sarsh Palin and Herman Cain before Carson, that was the intention all along. One by one the deck is being cleared for Hillary’s smooth cruise to coronation next year. What’s really sad is how much help she’s getting from Repubs and conservatives in the form of a circular firing squad.

Turns out that some of the first pyramids were indeed set up for grain storage. Dr. Carson isn’t quite as stupid as his detractors like to picture him.
It’s too bad that conservatives are so quick to jump on the liberal bandwagon when a threat to their favored candidate arises. Yesterday’s kerfuffle over Carson’s story about West Point was an excellent example.
Before this story came out I considered Carson damaged goods, most reasons already discussed in above posts, I still think he would make an excellent Surgeon General in the Cruz administration, so far as what we know now about Carson.
I’m not so sure of that this time around.
Thanks for the ping.
Does Kyle Cheney know there was a credible rape charge against Bill Clinton? A man who could be first husband? Does he know about sluts and nuts teams that trashed Clinton’s conquests? And that Hillary was in on it?

Wow tried the google search without Carson and he was absolutely right. They found grains in the pyramids that were preserved for several thousand years.
When doing reviews of so called media exposes (with the editing problem I am refraining from using apostrophes or contractions in my responses) to FRs. Those reviews should contain the names and a still (photo) of the propagandist and the venue used. Which only a handfull of FRs do. Which I wish I could do but because of tech problemns can not.
But,what I find disgusting is instead we have FR candidate supporters, mostly Trump chumpions, gleefully using and repeating the lies and misrepresentations advanced by media . But never questioning that so called report until of course their sacred mcandidate gets attacked.
When it is the media and their miss informing that should be attacked.
There are, however, several reports of an event in February of that year, similar to the one Carson described. —————————————————————————————
So he got the event right, but the date wrong.
FWIW
I went to what’s called an “Honor” military academy in high school. Among other things, an ‘Honor’ school gets to nominate a student to each of the 4 service academies just like Congressmen do. In my case, in the mid-60’s, I was nominated to the AF Academy. Because of my grades and cadet rank, I was virtually guaranteed admittance, and was told so.
I and the other 3 nominees spent a week at Sewart AFB in TN undergoing our physicals, and experiencing military life.
In my case I dropped out of the selection process before I was actually offered a spot in the class, because I wanted to fly, and my eyesight wasn’t quite good enough, though I had hoped to squeak by.
While at Sewart we were introduced to a number of 3 and 4 star generals, and attended several banquets, a big deal in our lives at the time.
But here, 50 years later, the only thing I can tell you for certain is the year this happened. There is no way I could narrow it down to a specific date, or even month, even though it was a very big deal at the time, and was written up in our local paper.
As I said, FWIW.
It’s not a matter of having to be gullible, but a matter of having to be suspicious. I don’t have reason to be suspicious. I hardly think it is essential to understand the nature and extent of Carson’s relationship with Mannatech. What? Are we to think the medical industry is without controversy?
The more I hear people line up to malign Dr. Carson, the more I understand the biblical texts that refer to people as sheep.
Carson’s reticence to name names in his disturbed past is exemplary of a person who does not want to get other people in trouble or cause then undue stress. What’s not to understand about that? Maybe you like to rat people out and have them see justice, but that really is no way to live unless you want to live life in a courtroom.
You know what hurts more than the relationship with Mannatech? The lie. So, if Carson wants to say Glyconutrients cure cancer, go for it! He already came out for the Egyptian grain pyramid thing. It fits the pattern. But to argue "no relationship"? It's simply stupid.
Actually, to assume a relationship more robust than exists is stupid. That’s your bag, so carry it as far as I’m concerned. It is inconsequential as a matter of basic trust, but you’ve got gnats to strain at out of self-interest. Go for it!
Politico = zero credibility.
