Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate, suggested in an interview Thursday that the U.S. should have bathrooms specifically for people who are transgender.
Carson was responding to questions about a recent ordinance in Houston that would have established nondiscrimination protections for gay and transgender people. Voters rejected the ordinance after an 18-month battle in which opponents argued that allowing transgender men and women to use their preferred public bathrooms would open the door to sexual predators who wanted to enter women's restrooms.
Carson's response: "How about we have a transgender bathroom?"
"It is not fair for them to make everybody else uncomfortable," he said. "It's one of the things that I don't particularly like about the [LGBT] movement. I think everybody has equal rights, but I'm not sure that anybody should have extra rights--extra rights when it comes to redefining everything for everybody else and imposing your view on everybody else."

This was so easy when there were only 2 sexes.
But now, with many sexes, and more springing up seemingly on a daily basis...
The only solution is individual bathrooms. One sink, one toilet, and one mirror.
So what if it adds $ millions to the cost of every skool?
It won't stop there. The laws will apply to every "public accomodation."
It’s just a matter of time until there’s a campaign to eliminate the icon of the woman in a dress. I wonder what the new symbol will be. Maybe a question mark?
My question too.
I’d love to know anyone who supports Carson and ask them why on earth would you support him.
Just turned the TV on and FOX is pushing Carson, seems Bush did not work for them and then they went to Fiorino and now Carson.
Yet again the north east media thinks the country is like them.
I was willing to vote for him weeks ago, but now there is no way will I.
He's running the best Facebook campaign of any of the candidates. He answers questions on Facebook every night.
The people that I know who are supporting him are religious, social conservatives, and very vocal on Facebook.
Carson makes imprudent statements and his supporters, just like Trump's, forgive him.
One thing that Carson does not do is insult the other candidates, which means that he has a greater potential for gaining the support of the other candidates' supporters when the other candidates drop out.
Trump could learn something from Gentle Ben.
And FWIW, I'm a Cruz supporter, and I will gladly vote for either Trump or Carson if they receive the nomination.
The Republican version of Obama's supporters...those who place a priority on skin pigmentation to show how "progressive" they are regardless of the man's qualifications (or lack thereof) to be POTUS.
This guy is un-electable. That’s why he’s been pushed to the top of the field. His poll numbers are a hoax.
What are you talking about? Conservatives just had huge wins all over the country.
Carson isn’t ‘the Republican’ (big R, btw) candidate.
Regardless, we’re all pretty sick of Republicans. Conservatives win big when they run as Conservatives, not Democrat-lite. And Carson is neither a Republican nor a Conservative anyway.
The media is pushing Carson...that’s all I need to know about him.
He might be onto something - how about a Transgender Port-a-potty to give them some privacy.
Yep, that was all I needed to hear, too. C'ya Ben.
Facebook is a formidable force today.
Knowing someone interactively gets forgiveness for a lot of oddities that would be no-go’s to someone you only know in text or video snippets. Face it... if either was an active Freeper that person’s popularity here would go WAAY up.
One nuance that might get lost in some of Carson’s statements is what is a statement of perceived prudence and what is a statement of suggested governing policy. They don’t have to be the same. Still, even if one expects this trans thing to be a visible factor for a long time to come, one could suggest a prudence of unisex restrooms. Less convenient for men, but everyone knows what to expect going into it.
The best way to resist is to tell the Fed to take their money and go choke on it.
But, the bottom line is that this nation is doomed. If we can’t tell that males and females are different, that separate facilities and separate teams is a no-brainer, then we deserve what’s coming.
Get rid of sports in public schools. Get rid of lunches. Make the day about 4 hours long, and heavy on quick classes full of lecture.
Any life or teams that kids participate in will be on their own dime and their own time.
Schools in many parts of the world don’t offer teams or lunches. That’s an American peculiarity.
Separate but equal?
Really need to stop looking for things to go into hysterics about. It merely makes you people look infantile when you use this statement as grounds to attack Carson just because he is "not your guy".
Surprisingly, two of them are practices often undertaken to improve health:
1. Vegetarian diet
2. weight-loss surgery.

I’m a Cruz voter,. but saying how Carson does not insult or he is religious when he clearly has not ran anything tells me that some people have learned nothing after these last few years.
People voted for Obama based on emotion, and he too had never ran anything in his life and now we have the same on our side who support Carson who vote on emotion.
No wonder this country is in a mess when people vote not based on the best person for the job based on background, but vote based on emotion or being a nice man etc.
"Alan Greenspan was Secretary of the Treasury."
"Egyptian pyramids weren't tombs, they were grain silos"
"Let's create transgender bathrooms."
Soon, Dr. Ben will start telling us about visits from little green men from Mars.
“One thing that Carson does not do is insult the other candidates”
What he insults is the Holy Bible by saying whacked out things like the pyramids being built to store grain, when there is ample evidence to the contrary. Even the leaders of the Seventh Day Adventists say he’s out of left field with that one and on his own. He’s also a pathological liar when talking about abortion. This man referred women who wanted to abort their children to abortionist friends of his. He freely admits it and sees nothing wrong with it. He also sat on the board of CostCo and Kellogg as a director for almost 20 years, and at the same time the two companies were donating millions to the abortion industry all over the world. This good friend of Bill Clinton, who left the republican party because he got mad when his good friend was impeached, is a fake and fraud and nothing in the world but Fox News/GOP establishment latest puppet to try and drive Trump out of the race.
Works for me. Give the mentally ill their own facilities.
Yeah, at a cost of how many $1,000's to thousands of businesses?
Butt out, I say.
