Ben Carson was put on the defensive on Thursday, with reporters pressing him about a series of reports that have sprung up questioning the factual accuracy of his past statements.
As Carson has gained in the polls, so has media scrutiny of the 64-year-old retired pediatric neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate, whose past and present statements have drawn no shortage of curiosity and interest.
On Thursday, during a stop on his book tour, Carson was pressed on everything from a report that questioned past claims of his physical violence toward others, an interview in which he appeared to struggle with the complexities of Cuban immigration policy in South Florida, and a rediscovered past speech in which he expressed his belief that the Great Pyramids of Giza were constructed by the biblical figure Joseph to store grain, not pharoahs' tombs.
A CNN reporter in particular tried to pry more details out of Carson after the network published a report titled "A tale of two Carsons" in which it could not corroborate the candidate's past claims in his books that he had acted violently in his childhood and adolescence toward his family and others - claims that are part of Carson's narrative of personal redemption.
Asked to be more specific about when the incidents occurred, Carson listed them in detail. "One of the ones where I threw a rock and broke someone's glasses, that occurred when I was maybe about 7 or 8, the stabbing, attempted stabbing incident occurred when I was 13 or 14, the - what's another incident? Give me another one," Carson asked a scrum of media on CNN in Miami during a book signing tour. "Trying to hit my mom in the head with a hammer? That was around the same time as the stabbing incident."

Its an issue because it speaks to his ability to think in an intelligent manner outside a surgical theater and when you pile this on top of his other idiocy like guns for some and not for others depending on population density where they are most needed, amnesty and the rest, clearly he has the judgement of a barn owl.
Anyone with functioning 2 brain cells and 10 seconds to employ them knows it’s moronic from any conceivable angle to spend a couple lifetimes and the care and feeding of a slave army, building a grain storage facility with an internal volume that is fractional when you’d grow and consume thousands of crops that could externally BURY the pyramids in that timeframe.
You call that judgement? Good freaking luck with your space alien.
Pathetic to see so many Freepers fall for the nonsense put out by Politico, AP and the MSM.
THEY are the enemies. Get a clue.
Even the Soviets seldom disputed the facts.
But the spin they put on them was dizzying.
That said, the facts stayed facts.
As illustrated below it should be clear that triangles are obviously excellent for food storage. As a result it is only logical that pyramids should better by at least a ratio of 4/3 times the height of the pyramid times the square of the base. Or something like that.
I think Carson just went to better schools than the rest of us and that's why he is so smart.
I guess they cut the bottom off of that pyramid. You know, the MEAT that any healthy diet is BASED on.
(Ducking)
Carson is not a moron. He simply has no background or knowledge to justify becoming a POTUS. That said, he would still be 10 times better than Hillary and 100 times better than Buraq Hussein Obama.
So what. Obama hung around terrorists. Am I supposed be outraged over what Dr Carson says about his past
That Pyramid will exacerbate my Diabetes like crazy. I am eating lots of bacon, Salmon, chicken and plenty of half and half in my coffee. I have cut out all wheat products. Only grains in my diet are old fashioned Oats cereal. Eating lots of veggie’s & some fruits. My A1C has dropped from 6.6 to 5.8, and my energy levels are much higher.
It’s generally accepted that the pyramids were mainly built around 3000 BC, which is about 1200 years before what is thought to be the time of Joseph. I’m not saying Ben should have known that (most people don’t) but there it is.
The media suddenly cares about the past of THIS black man?
Got bias??
What difference does it make at this time ANYHOW???
to coin a phrase...
I haven’t looked at the pyramid claims, just hearing about them as they are going viral.
Frankly I never gave it or the price of tea in China much thought.
Pyramids DID take a long time to build and it took a lot of hungry people to build them. Maybe they were used for temporary storage from the hot desert sun. Art Bell or George Noorey ever discuss it?
Did he not see The Ten Commandments? Charlton Heston got tired of building the pyramids and took the Israelis out of Egypt.
Most of them are in it for the money. Once they “run” for president their speaking fees go through the roof.
Just because someone doesn’t like Carson does not make them a racist. You sound like a Democrat!
This also shows they are wasting space at the Louvre pyramid - look how many snacks they could be selling!
Yikes. Brilliant minds must think along common lines. You beat me to the obvious explanation for Carson’s views about food and pyramids. See My Post #24.
So he said some dumbass stuff about monumentally unimportant things 20 years ago? I really sincerely don't care.
The polls would have us believe this WHACK JOB is leading Trump.
Even Goebbels wouldn’t attempt this type of ridiculous propaganda.
CPUSA Propagandists in US media should take a look at how Joe and his family ended up.
