Cruz is rising in Iowa; Clinton Back Out to Dominant Lead
PPP's newest Iowa poll finds a tight race on the Republican side in the state with Donald Trump at 22%, Ben Carson at 21%, Ted Cruz at 14%, Marco Rubio at 10%, Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal each at 6%, and Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina each at 5%. Polling further back are Chris Christie at 3%, John Kasich, Rand Paul, and Rick Santorum each at 2%, Lindsey Graham with less than 1%, and Jim Gilmore and George Pataki each with no supporters.
Compared to our last Iowa poll in mid-September Trump's support is down 2 points (from 24% to 22%), while Carson's support is up 4 points (from 17% to 21%) putting them in the deadlock. The big gainer from a month ago is Ted Cruz though. He's gone from 8% to 14%, and also seen his favorability rating improve from 51/23 to 62/16. Cruz is now leading the field in Iowa among Tea Party voters (34% to 24% for Trump and 22% for Carson), and voters who identify themselves as 'very conservative' (24% to 22% for Carson and 21% for Trump.)
Movie tie-in.
It’s a takeoff on The Hunger Games, which is libertarianism for kids.
Awful literature, but culturally aware and appeals to a younger demographic.
One of the books in the series is “Catching Fire”, which is knowingly re-used by the Cruz campaign.
Got it.
Figured the bird for an arctic tern, so I couldn’t make anything from that.
With you on Rubio. He does what his gop elders tell him to do.
Ground game, baby. Cruz is Catching Fire.
******************
Cruz should in Iowa. I think he probably has the best ground level organization
in the state. I believe I read where he now has a Cruz campaign worker in each of
the 99 counties. If so that helps get the supporters to the over 1600 caucuses to
spend a couple of hours and vote for him.
He could have been president of the US!!!
he got lost along the way. and never found his way back.
No, there is no title with PPP. It’s a subtitle. But spin as you want, the significant thing is that the Carson boomlet is over, and Trump is, yes, back on top in IA.
I don't care who you support or why but those numbers were manipulated.
But suit yourself; go post your own.
Go Cruz, go! A steady but constant rise is the best way to stay strong in the long run!
One would guess that is reflecting his debate performance, but you never know. Carson had a horrible debate performance and now leads in the NBC poll.
You can't use this poll to make the argument that "Trump is back on top" in Iowa. In the last poll by this company, Trump had a 7 point lead - in this poll, he has a 1 point lead. So this poll shows Trump losing ground in Iowa, just like the other recent Iowa polls do. And this poll shows Carson gaining on Trump in Iowa, just as the other Iowas polls do. Sorry, but you can't compare this poll to a poll from another company and claim Trump is "back on top". You have to compare this poll with the next most recent poll from this company to see what movement they are showing in their poll for the candidates.
LOL. Speaking of spin...
Nope. Wrong argument. I am not going by his previous polls in this PARTICULAR poll but the hoopla that “Carson is leading in IA.” THAT was the national story. Tit for tat. The story is Trump has reclaimed the lead in IA now in two polls. You can look at it however you want, but think our conversation is over.
Gilmore and Pataki STILL in race??
Post you own thread if you are so concerned.
Could you imagine Carson debating Hillary?
