GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed credit Sunday for Ford Motor Company's plans to move a production plant from Mexico to Ohio.
Trump has been calling out Ford during his campaign, saying the automaker plans to move jobs from Michigan to Mexico, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who also is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, says the move from Mexico to Ohio had nothing to Trump's demands. "The truth is that Ford began moving jobs back to Ohio four years ago under the leadership of Governor John Kasich," the governor's campaign said in a statement to the press on Sunday night.
"Our country needs real leadership and not empty, false rhetoric," Kasich said. "Working as a team, we brought Ford production jobs back from Mexico to Ohio years ago. That's how things really get done. Hard work and teamwork brings results for the people."
When Kasich announced Ford was bringing the jobs to Ohio in 2011 the vice president of Ford North America Manufacturing said it was "enabled by the Governor and his strong leadership," the campaign noted.

Pigs may fly one day too, noob. Crap may happen if you take the right stuff. People may like you even though your deductive reasoning skills are lacking.
If Kasich did start this, he sure as H didn’t finish it with a good result. FORD made the announcements in April they decided on Mexico, that fact missed you entirely but now you may not have any research skills as well. This took me less than 15 seconds to find;

Thank you. Perfect. :)
Now the best thing for Kasich is to remain Governor Kasich. He's given a pathetic interview or two since he started his recent campaign.
“I heart obamacare” Kasich? That guy? Mmmmhmmm...
And today, Ford is still planning a move to Mexico. Nothing has changed.
Trump hasnt claimed to have contributed to Ford having built plants in the US previously.
Right, he has claimed that he contributed to backing off from their planned move to Mexico. Only problem is, Ford has not backed off from their planned move to Mexico. What they have done is shift 1,000 jobs to the Ohio plant, but that move was planned years ago and was competed in August.
What Trump was referring to was a rumor, not yet substantiated in the press, that they’ve dropped the planned plant in Mexico. He wasn’t trying to take credit for a few more jobs in Ohio.
I don’t get the timeline here. This says Ford put out something on staying in Ohio in 2011. Trump has been saying Ford is going to Mexico for the last three months. If Kasich had already accomplished keeping them in Ohio, why didn’t he say so during the last three months?
The source of that rumor is this article, which talks about the Ohio move (and wrongly assumed that the Ohio move means that Ford has cancelled its Mexico plans):

The timeline is confused, because there are two different issues. First, several years ago, Kasich negotiated with Ford, resulting inFord's decision to move production of a couple of their truck lines to Ohio. Production on those lines, which employ roughly 1,000 workers, started in August of this year. Second, in April of this year, Ford announced a $2.8 billion investment in two other Mexican plants, to build transmissions (I believe). That is the decision that Trump has been talking about. It was only yesterday that Trump conflated the two issues, taking credit for Ford cancelling its plans to move to Mexico. Problem is, Ford hasn't changed its plans--all that happened was the previous decision to move some jobs to Ohio.
No, Trump is. He’s the one who is falsely taking credit for Kasich’s accomplishment (and ignoring that Trump hasn’t accomplished anything here, since Ford still plans to build the Mexico plant that Trump has been railing against).
Trump isn’t lying—cut it out.
Was that the basis of the rumor he was talking about—or is it from somewhere else?
I don’t know and I don’t think you do either.
Even if the rumor is false, Trump’s not lying, because he didn’t declare it to be anything more than a rumor.
LOL...wait....wasn’t his dad a mailman, though? Or, was it a milkman. I can’t remember.
Trump Derangement Syndrome. I think you have it.
Trump re-tweeted the article, and then tweeted himself that there was word that Ford is cancelling it plans. Considering that there is no other such rumor going around the Internet, it’s pretty safe to assume that the article was Trump’s source.
And he’s not lying because he’s only spreading a rumor he heard? That’s a pretty weak defense.
So, calling out Trump when he wrongly takes credit for Ford’s decision to cancel its plans to move a plant to Mexico (when Ford has not, in fact, cancelled its plans to move a plant to Mexico) is “Trump Derangement Syndrome” now? Wrong.
Kasich as a candidate is going nowhere!!!
I did not know that Kaisch was trying to force Ford to give up its plans to build a plant in Mexico.
