Rove to GOP: 'Don't choose a nominee that reflects populist outrage'
Washington Examiner ^ | 10/22/15 | GABBY MORRONGIELLO

Longtime political strategist Karl Rove is warning Republicans not to nominate a presidential candidate that reflects the same "populist anger" that gave birth to the rise of Donald Trump.

In his latest op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Rove explained the GOP will have two choices when delegates gather in Cleveland, Ohio, next July to determine which remaining Republican hopeful they wish to see challenge Democrats in the general election.

"Will the party choose a nominee with a conservative agenda or one reflecting populist anger?" Rove wrote.

"The two are hardly the same," he noted. "Conservative principles provide a winning path to the White House. Populist outrage alone will end in defeat."

Dear Mr. Karl (Tokyo) Rove, haven’t you figured it out yet?
We ‘the plebisite’ no longer listen to you exclusively.
You’re not the only Ice Cream Vendor anymore. We have choices now, real choices.

You are fine for historical reference, but not expected to be our ‘Sermon on the Mount’ guy anymore. Run along now, Karlio. Don’t you have some White Boards that need cleaning or erasers that need clapping? I think W. has been looking for you. I’m sure no one else is.

Rove and GOP won elections by telling conservative leader what they wanted to hear but never follow through with conservative action. The electorate has wised up.

“I wonder who changed ... him or us?”

The world has changed, and he hasn’t. That’s the problem.

So, Mr. Piggy, Jeb has conservative principles? The GOPE has lost their way on conservatism. Trump’s illegal immigration policy has more conservatism in it’s little finger, than Jeb has in his entire hand. Go away Tokyo Rove - you are a loser. And, oh yeah, take your little white board with you.

I agree with Rove except for a couple of tacit points. So far the guys Rove likes don't even pay lip service to the millions of rubes they need to win...other than a few empty promises before an election. You would think he would encourage his guys to toss us a bone now and then.

Then, his guy Jeb has as much chance of getting elected as I do. How does he plan to address that?

If he plans to back a winner, he needs to look elsewhere.

The GOPe should have listened to us just a little bit since we gave you most of the governorships, then the House, and then the Senate.

It’s not “anger”. It’s just housecleaning. Time to take out the trash.

“Yes, pick a candidate that has no fire in the belly or a desire to win. Pick a McCain or a Romney once again and watch Hillary or whoever is the rat nominee win in November 2016.”

It seems only Trump will know how to defeat the media. And if you can’t defeat the media you cannot win.

And is there any other candidate who would advocate “Merry Christmas” as a talking point? That is an example of Trump having the honesty to puncture the leftist narrative which has scared so many.
