BUMP
That said, I believe Trump is a sincere true-blue American patriot, whereas I believe Obama, the Clintons, McCain, Boehner, McConnell, Romney, and any political member of the Bush family, are government-weasel globalists who put America in the back seat. Trump is a real patriot, and I love him for that, but I hate his penchant for more and bigger government done his "American businessman" way.
I will ONLY vote for what I want to win: the goal of eradicating unconstitutional government in America.
I agree 100 percent with Trump's intentions!
I only agree maybe 30 percent, if that, with his apparent means of achieving them. And it takes some thinking and analysis to understand that the MEANS he proposes always involve more and bigger government, done his way.
Reagan said that government isn't the solution to our problems, government is the problem.
Trump, through his actions, has said for years and is still saying that more government is needed to solve problems, as long as that government is managed by a business-minded type. I reject 100 percent of that premise.
In all my years of being on Free Republic, I have never even once come across a purist. Not one time, never.
However, I have come across literally thousands of posts if not FReepers who accuse others of being purists.
I think purists are about as real as unicorns, and about as dangerous an enemy.
The bigger danger is a mindset that strategizes based on an imaginary enemy. Such is the mindset of those who target "purists" when their candidate is given the thumbs-down.
Purists are a figment of your imagination, Aquila.
I'm proud to FReep with you. I understand your faith and confidence in Trump. I am convinced it is misplaced. God bless!
‘Fair compensation’ as to eminent domain is a very, very obscure and manipulative societal quandary. If people, especially government persons, were not involved perhaps more fair and suitable arrangements between parties could result. I am a firm believer that what I have obtained honestly is mine until I decide to share or part from. On this issue I have serious disagreement and disappointment about Trump’s caring for the ordinary persons.
the point and the entire argument is moot
SCOTUS has decided the issue
I feel just the opposite. No one needs to be so attached to “Material things”. However eminent domain should always be processed through a court. For example your neighbor can not force you to sell your property so he can build a bigger house. But if the use is for public benefit such as a hospital, highway, airport, school, etc. then owner should be required to sell. And the compensation musty be substantially higher than appraised value.
Presumably, you consider yourself a "conservative" and/or are registered as a Republican.
You are very much like a dog who considers himself a cat and/or craps in a cat's litter box.
Of course he does. It's nationalism. We haven't had a nationalist president since Ronald Reagan. For me that's more important than being check all the boxes conservatively correct, while supporting the dilution of American sovereignty. Cruz is a good man, but even is somehow he won the nomination the GOPe would do everything they can to sabotage him and blame his "extremism" for the loss. Moreover he won't win the nomination because truthfully he lacks the leadership skills of Trump.
I vote in every city, county, state & national elections. Since becoming US citizen, I have voted for all republicans since Nixon in 1972, Except for Perot once.
We must be on different FRs. I seem people all the time who are willing to turn on people they previously supported over differences on one relatively tangential issue.
I just have doubts as to whose benefit is really benefitted. Contractors whether it be for hospitals, highways, schools, airports or what ever have only their ledgers and bottom lines in mind. I have no squash with the government playing footsey-richy with contractors for government lands. However, I have seen how government people do favors for so called makers and shakers who use such people to enrich selected persons. I don’t have to kid myself about judges being part of the societal scams. As far as Trump’s expressions go he seems to fit the mold of government above all including ordinary persons if the price is right. I still think Trump is the best person on the POTUSA list as of today.
All kinds of chicanery is built into politicians. That is why I will go along with eminent domain IF the property owner has easy (meaning no cost) access to a court. It should never come down as a decree from the Gov’t with no recourse to review by a court.
I can’t help but keep saying that most judges are government first people. Their ride to higher status has to be paid.
