Obama rejects candidates' ideas for solving crisis in Syria

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is accusing White House hopefuls of concocting "half-baked" ideas for solving the crisis in Syria, appearing to even dismiss his former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's call for a no-fly zone before later clarifying his view of the Democratic front-runner.

The idea of a no-fly zone — a region of Syria that the United States would protect from bombing to create a safe corridor for refugees — has emerged as a favorite option for Democratic and Republican candidates. It's a plan that allows them to stake out a more aggressive military posture than Obama, while stopping short of the kind of large-scale combat troop deployments the U.S. engaged in for years in Iraq and Afghanistan — and of which voters have wearied.

Obama, who opposes such a move, said Friday that he'd like critics of his Syria policies to be asked, "Specifically, precisely, what exactly would you do?" He told a White House news conference, "Typically, what you get is a bunch of mumbo jumbo."

He has looked really tight and terse during these press conferences where he has to try to defend his actions. He doesn’t think ANYBODY has a good idea but himself. He does not know how to listen and take sound advice. He’s like a 15 year old boy in this regard. Punk.

My saying he didn’t start it is just referencing the long history of Arab radicalism. I am not saying that all Arabs are radicals or that all radicals are Arabs, but the Middle East has produced its fair share of radicals. They predate Obama.

I reject the premise that an American solution is needed. The russians are handling it. Get out of their way.

None of them, including Hussein, have any part in the solution now.

"Specifically, precisely, what exactly would you do?"

Fire up the Wayback Machine, unelect Barack, undo the Arab Spring, Libya and every other part of his policy that created this ungodly mess that is the Middle East today.

Agree completely. Syria has been in the Russian orbit for decades. The Russians know all the players, and the best way to get this thing wrapped up decisively. It’s their show all the way.

The Russians are handling it.

And the end result will be even worse.

"We're from Russia and we're here to help." -- Putin

I reject the premise that an American solution is needed.

We used to have friends and alliances that had power in the world that kept balances of power and avoided brushfires and cataclysm from every swinging ___. ; there used to be NATO.

You’re right. He looks like he is about to crack.

There are really no words to describe him. “Vile” and “Evil” are about the best.

What bothers me more than anything is the fact that so many people can’t even recognize even a little tiny bit wrong with him. They have absolutely no discernment. That is extremely scary.

Between your anti-trump posts regarding Syria and your post to me in this thread, you are beginning to annoy me.

Worse, you say? Worse than what? Worse than the atrocities committed by ISIS?

Syria has been a Russian client state for a very long time. That's not new. Obama screwed this up royally. The US should cut bait in syria. There is no US national interest there.

We are living a surrealist dream, a dream we never wanted nor ever imagined. Since when do we have our own elected leaders turning their backs on there constituents to refuse to stop a rogue president who thumbs his middle finger at our country, its sacred institutions, at its Christians and Christendom? In the name of refusing to stop the leftist machinations of the first (half) black president, what they are really doing is succumbing to racism in the name of fairness. This man is a traitor to our country and if he was not a democrat, but the first black Republican president, he would have been impeached, convicted, and removed from office. Poor silly fools in Congress— gutless, spineless Rhinos first, and the usual evil democrats as well. To hell with all of you.

Our national interest is in stopping the flood of muslims to the West. Our interest is in not increasing Russia's influence and power in the Middle East, Iran not getting Russia missile defenses, the other M.E. states having to turn to Russia - and do their bidding in order to be secure.

We have a whole lot of interest in this region and situation and every new development.

Obama screwed this up royally.

We do agree on that for sure. It is a real mess.

It's become such a mess that today some look forward to major military presence there - as a good thing for U.S. security and national interests. I never thought I'd see that day.

Muslim "Sisterhood"...... Woman Run the White House.....

...."Controller".......

Chief Architects of Obama’s foreign policy....... Senior Adviser 'Valerie Jarrett', U.N. Ambassador 'Samantha Power' and National Security Adviser 'Susan Rice'..with Michelle bringing up the rear.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice,... counsel Kathy Ruemmler.... and homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco....Nobody in the West Wing outranks them on "national security issues", marking the first time that women have occupied all three positions...to our nations hurt!....Woman are nurturers...men are protectors.

....”I reject the premise that an American solution is needed. The russians are handling it. Get out of their way”....

Perhaps...but I honestly believe it's harmful to our nation with inexperienced ‘woman’ all in positions of our national security and the lead advisers to Obama......he's surrounded himself with woman at every level to run this country......his inner circle is all woman. ...thus protecting himself from any real men who understand what “protecting a country is about...rather they “nurture” every stinking nation abroad that they can and do, rather than protect this nation...what do they know or understand of war?...Obama certainly doesn't....and even our Military men say he simply won't listen.

Woman should not be running this country as they are......but Obama seems to use them to shore his ego up...and they sure worship at his feet under the tutelage of Valerie Jarrett who runs the show..
