Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)’ campaign on Friday unveiled a list of actors, directors, musicians and tech industry players and who have endorsed the independent Vermont Senator and self-described socialist’s bid for the presidency.
Actors Will Ferrell, Jeremy Piven, John C. Reilly, Danny DeVito, and Sarah Silverman are among the 128 “artists and cultural leaders” that have put their names to an open letter calling for Sanders to be the Democrat presidential nominee.

Didn’t something similar happen in the 30s where the celebrities were fascinated by Hitler and Stalin? And it was followed by the House Committee on UnAmerican Activities in the 40s with its much-decried blacklist of Hollywood writers and performers. I doubt history repeats itself in that way since there is a difference between foreign influence and homegrown radicalism.

No surprise “cultural leaders” are historically ignorant. The elites of their day supported Mao in the Chinese civil war. Millions of people died in the purges that followed, including most of the elites; because they were not the insider elite faction running the revolution.
