A post-debate poll finds that Ben Cason has leap-frogged over businessman Donald Trump as the candidate most Republican voters believe will win the GOP nomination.

Rasmussen Reports said that 59 percent of likely Republican voters believe that Carson will end up on top after the primary and caucus season is over next year.

He is closely followed by Donald Trump, at 58 percent. Carly Fiorina at 40 percent and Jeb Bush at 40 percent.

Like a lot of people, I like Ben Carson. A lot.
But he’s a decent man and the Demoncrats would:
Eat Him Alive.

NC breathed new life into Reagan’s campaign in 1976. There was some history behind the support, it predated the 1980 campaign.

Yes it did indeed, and the late Senator Jesse Helms was instrumental in that, as I recall.

If the Gipper had not fired that idiot John Sears and replaced him with Bill Casey, history might have played out tragically different.

If it comes from World Nut Daily it must be true!!!

Seriously, who reads that garbage? I think the National Enquirer is a more reputable source.

Your poor helpless fools.

Trump is out there hawking what you profess your beliefs to be.

Hey, if you aren’t really a Conservative I can see why you’re so upset.

You have my deepest sympathy. NOT.

BTW, what’s the margin of error in a poll with responses that add up to 200%?

It’s hysterical that the staus quo hopefuls will grab any straw they can find.

If you had told GOPe folks 3 months ago that they’d see a poll saying this, they’d have had a fit. Now, they act like it’s great news.

What’s so great about Trump and Carson in a dead heat, WAY above the rest of the field, plus another non-pro in third place?

If you support career professional GOP candidates, this poll is not good news at all!

Too bad I don't think he is hawking what his beliefs are.

If he wins, I’m sure he will be an improvement over what we have now, unlike the last guy that ran. But that’s relative. I don’t see him winning me over but I would however like him to try. Trump governing to the right would be a great thing. One way or the other, when he wins, I wish him success.

Senators Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions seem to think Trump's beliefs are valid, likewise former Governor Sarah Palin, who said "Thank God he's running!"

I'll go with their collective view, before I buy into your FUD.

Yes it is.

It’s sad to watch people say they want something, and when they get it they find excuses not to be happy anyway.

One Point! That’s within the margin of Error. Dr. Carson—a great guy—but some of his words are not cool and he could not be the guy we need at this point in history.

You have to keep in mind that we are dealing with all 57 states here, and that 200% of Carson supporters think he has as 50-50 chance...

LOL, made me laugh...

Trump supporters cannot have it both ways. ;)

Sure they can, and they will till the Trump bubble likely bursts and "the Donald" has faded away into clownish oblivion.

What will be more interesting is how Trump himself handles it if/when his polling goes south. He is constantly talking about how great his polls are as if those numbers represent currency. If/when the time comes that his polling is consistently not so good, I'm guessing suddenly he won't mention polling and would tell you they don't matter.

Let's be fair here though, hypocrisy in politics....who'd have thunk it! When it comes to polling Trumpkins behave like many/most people - love the polls that show their guy/gal doing well, claim they are nonsense when the same poll shows just the opposite. Remember for months leading into the 2012 election there were all manner of people claiming they could "unskew" polls and that Romney was actually winning.......yeah, that didn't turn out so well. There was an even a laughable website called Unskewed Polls or something that claimed to be able to go in, shift the sample into something they regarded as more fair, and show what the real result should be. That actually fooled a lot of gullible people too.

While the poll might be right, it is nevertheless odd. I haven’t seen huge crowds for B. Carson nor for the other candidates that come even close to Trump’s. One report had Carson hard up for donations.

you stated that a candidate may release fake numbers if his polling results are bad, so how is then that we can trust a candidate’s polling data?
