Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) said on Tuesday that conservatives could only win in 2016 by abandoning GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Sane conservatives need to stop enabling him, Jindal wrote in an op-ed published by CNN.
They need to stop praising him, stop being afraid of him and stop treating him rationally, he said. Conservatives need to say what we are thinking: Donald Trump is a madman who must be stopped, added Jindal, himself a Republican White House hopeful.
Jindal argued that Trump is duping voters by seeking to present himself like former President Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail.
Like a kid in a superhero costume, Trump compares himself to Ronald Reagan, wearing the Gippers slogan on his forehead as if he just thought of it, he wrote, referencing Trumps frequent insistence that he will make America great again.
But whereas Reagan was a terrible entertainer and a great statesman, Trump is a great entertainer who would be a terrible statesman, the Louisiana governor added.
Jindal also said that letting Trump become the Republican nominee would virtually guarantee a Democratic victory in the general election next year.
The problem with Donald Trump is that he will never be president, he asserted. His nomination as the Republican candidate would gift the White House to Hillary Clinton.Failure to speak out against Trump is an endorsement of Clinton.
If you want to stick it to the man so badly that you are willing to see Clinton win, vote for Trump, Jindal added. But if you want a politically conservative revolution, Im the guy who can lead it.
Jindal began assailing Trumps campaign during a scathing address at the National Press Club in Washington last week.
Trump countered by stating that he only responds to people that register more than 1 percent in the polls.
Jindal ranks 14th out of 16prominent Republican White House hopefuls, with less than 1 percent, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average..
Trump, in contrast, commands first place with the support of 29.8 percent of Republican voters nationwide.
“What if some psycho tries to harm Trump because of these caustic words put out there by Jindahl?”
Good point. Has Trump come close to anything like this? And he was raked over the coals for much less.
Bobby, all you’re telling us is that Trump is crazy (which you haven’t proven) and unable to win the general election (which you are in no position to ever prove).
Trump has stated some of his positions already, but you neglect to argue against them.
So your ad hominem attacks against Trump tell me you have nothing worth selling. It leads me to conclude that you’re merely dancing for the people who are paying you.
Your status as being Constitutional ineligible to ever become President remains undiminished, but your other status as a 1% favorite in the race does indeed make that other issue rather irrelevant.
Sure rhinos alienate the voting public and guess what will happen? The vote will be perotted and Hill Billy 2 will be in the white house, setting us up for another 911, like they did last time. Don’t these candidates realize they need to learn from the voters what is needed? I might not vote, I am so pissed off at the ignorance or is it arrogance, of some of the GOP.
Why is Jindal still in the race? Seriously, is he running for a cabinet position?

Sounds like Bobby never signed the pledge. Interesting how people’s true characters show forth for all to see when the heat goes up a little.
It’s obvious Jindal wants a continuation of the status quo, and the biggest Establishment sleeper I’ve *ever* encountered. Good thing America hasn’t ever heard of him. Damn.
I liked Bobby Jindal; but he sounds like he has lost his marbles. Trump unhinges people. It’s supernatural their masks fall away when he confronts them. (Maybe he can also slow the oceans’ rise and heal the planet. LOL)

Utterly perplexing. Would make a good graphic, though: all the ‘GOP’ players heads being a jar of Marbles that shoot out whenever they open their mouths.
Seems to me as if you're making a veiled criticism of Dear Leader DT. Tsk, tsk.
Just between you, me and the fence post, you may be flamed if you keep up that kind of nonsense behavior.
The crack-up of the GOP (hopefully) begins.
Jindal is over the top and beyond the pale with this rant.
Piyush Amrit Bobby Jindal

Raj Jindal born in India, naturalized Sept 21, 1976.
Parents were NOT US Citizens at the time of his birth
Have a drink of water Jindal and let the democrats walk over you.
“Bobby. You’re fired.”
bump
Also it takes a fighter who can get people to follow him to be successful running the government.
You can be a genius, but it does not good of no one will listen and no one will follow.
And I suspect Trump knows how to hire competent people. How else could he have done so well.
Trump is right about the art of the deal but after the deal is made one needs competent people to live up to the deal. It would appear that he knows how to manage that as well.
Jindal is irrelevant. Trump is living rent free in that useful idiot’s head.
Yep. Jindal is using the wrong Si-cology.
