Florida Gov. Rick Scott declared state of emergency Friday ahead of Tropical Storm Erika, currently drenching the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and headed for the Dominican Republic. Erika, moving to the west-northwest at 17 miles per hour, is expected to gradually turn north as it approaches Florida Sunday evening,.....

Sure did. My parents were in construction down there. Everyone from then on knew to make sure their trusses were strapped!
“More than 52 inches of rain has fallen on Tampa this year....”
Yep, it’s wet in this region... last thing we need is a rain filled storm.
Our hay is ready to cut but it has water sitting in the field. It will go bad before we can mow and bale it. We can't get our mower, rakes and baler out in the field because they will sink into the ground. It is what we feed our cows in the winter with. We will have to buy it instead at $60-70 a bale for 36 bales we normally use. That's a $2,200 expense plus transportation costs that we don't normally have.
The soil is sandy and normally rainfall drains rapidly into the ground. But with so much rain, the water table is almost on the surface of the ground. We have a low area in our bull paddock that is normally a mud hole. Here are some pictures of it today after 3.5" of rain in two hours on Wednesday evening. Lightning also struck our horse during that storm and he died. Not a good day for the farm.
This is normally a dry mud hole:
Oak tree trunks under water in background. This will eventually kill them is it doesn't dry out soon:
Yes, this hell-storm might pack winds of up to 40 MPH! We may as well kiss Florida goodbye.
You have to admire the hardy American spirit, which even the Obama regime has been unable to quench.
Now 75 miles south of Gitmo, Cuba. Winds at 40 MPH moving WNW at 20 MPH. Looks like it’s taking the most southern tracks of the models. Definitely getting plenty of shear. Center is now hard to define.
WFTV in Orlando said it is broken up and gone now with no organization. It is headed for the gulf now and probably will produce rain for Florida as it moves through.
Tropical Storm Erika is no more

Heavy rains could still be an issue, though.
Thought you might find this interesting.
Now Erica dissipated. funny how they didn't predict that
They were wrong or lying and they got every body hopping even on this site
there have been no hurricanes that have hit the USA in several years. did they mention that? of course not.
I think the water is getting colder not warmer so it exposes their global warming hoax
I guess the grocery stores were happy.
How the heck are you doing these days?
I am still here and I am happy to see you are too.
There have been no major hurricanes that have hit the Gulf coast in many years.
I think the Ocean is getting colder (global cooling) which exposes their global warming hoax
I hope it comes through and gives us a nice drenching rain. We are parched here north of Columbia.
I’m in Greenville. We could use some rain, too.
I’m fortunate to be living in Central Florida and on a hill side at that. Being in the Central, we avoid the worst of the storms and being pretty high up on a hill side we have no drainage or flooding problems either.
Let me put it this way, if we experience any flooding with our house I will be begin preparing for the Rapture and the Lord’s time because it would be an extremely unlikely and unexpected development.
Curious to know the elevation of your property. Around here, "hills" are like 3,500 ft MSL.
No, He and the Dems are calling it before the next national election so he can remain in office.
