The long, slow death of the rule of law in America

The most disturbing aspect of the scandal around Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server during her tenure as secretary of state is not the former first lady’s penchant for secrecy.

What’s truly unsettling is that it has been widely taken as read among both the media and the general public that Mrs. Clinton will likely avoid serious legal consequences for her behavior because the Justice Department is ultimately answerable to President Obama – and Democrats will not use the instruments of government to destroy one of their own. Whether that eventually proves true, the sentiment itself reveals a troubling trend in American politics.

It’s unnerving that the segments of society charged with keeping those officials in check – namely, the media and the voters – now regard such lack of principle as so unremarkable that it barely merits mention. We have transformed into a country in which it’s difficult to imagine precisely what kind of official malfeasance would be met with more than a shrug of the shoulders.

The Justice Department, for example, already took a pass on prosecuting Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the scandal in which conservative groups were singled out for special scrutiny by the federal government on the basis of their political beliefs. If there’s anything that ought to be a matter of consensus in American politics, it’s that holding the reins of power doesn’t give you carte blanche to turn the power of the state against your partisan rivals. Yet Ms. Lerner, having done that very thing, doesn’t seem to be much worse for the wear.

This hands-off trend isn’t limited by any means to the DOJ. Consider the current debate over the nuclear deal with Iran.

People with opposing purposes do not get along.

Our Purposes are the opposite of the purposes of Obama and company.

I have a question:

‘If this administration does not do anything to shillary, can the next administration do something or is there a time limit on these acts?’

(If Trump/Cruz or Attorney General Gowdy is in office?) saying ‘if’....

Doing away with our Judeo Christian values such as the Ten Commandments monuments in our courthouses was one step in the breakdown of the law in our society. Not allowing school children to pray together was another step in the wrong direction.

Laws mean absolutely nothing these days in this country. Obeying laws has become voluntary.

Well, the law certainly doesn't mean anything to Obama, his administration, Democrats and what the hell, Republican's too.

Even the corrupt US Supreme Court has turned it's back on their Constitutionally defined limits and started writing and making law themselves!

We no longer have a single, civil option to try and right the country, so screw it!

If they don't have to obey the law, then why the hell do we?!

We are clearly a two-tier society, and the laws exist only to keep the lower tier in its place. There are no laws for the upper tier.

It is worse than just that.

There are no laws for the favored groups of the upper tier.

Any who are perceived as having wronged one of the favored (but who are not in their ranks) will be prosecuted under even more strict laws than are present for their own protection.

The equal protection clause has been thus rendered null and void in practice.

Who ever heard of a country

where the HEAD of the country is the aider and abettor of

those who are in the act of dismantling the country?

It has been said many times, yet it needs to be repeated continuously, mantra-like: We can survive Obama, but we cannot survive the depraved fools who voted for his re-election. And the death of the rule-of-law leaves the stark reality that it can be restored only through mass blood-letting, on the order of the Civil War.

They put that in a storage room at the courthouse in Montgomery Alabama. The moral foundation of our law and the acknowledgment of God was hidden from public view.

...."private emails across all agencies signifies an 0dingo shadow gov't with treasonous activities".....

I believe there has been two Governments functioning....Obama's and Clintons.......There's a sure reason why Hillary and Billy have traveled extensively since Obama won....and it wasn't so they could do anything substantial for his office....more than on occasion they were happy to be abroad to line up the support and cash for her political run.

This hands-off trend isn’t limited by any means to the DOJ. Consider the current debate over the nuclear deal with Iran.

That is clear enough, but there is something clearer and more dangerous staring us in the face:

The idea that loyalty to party is paramount in American politics. More important that the welfare of the republic and its citizens.*
That is precisely what the discredited GOPe is currently demanding that Trump embrace : loyalty to party by paramount so he (and every other GOP candidate)must pledge not to run as third party candidate. Where did that come from?

The First Rapist, is where it came from. In The liberal War on Transparency, By Christopher Horner, 2012, it is clear that loyalty to party above all else is the most important duty of a GOPe member, now.
There is no need to examine the depths of ambition and criminality where that has led us the last twenty years.

I will vote for Trump in the Primaries AND in the general elections, third party or not.

Hate to break it to the GOPe eunuchs, all talk no action, but party is NOT paramount. Not now, not ever.

In case you hadn't noticed, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM NOW.

* The wife of that First Rapist has refined the arrogance and criminality without limits that we are experiencing now.

And the GOPe has caught the disease big time.
