U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Tuesday said it will no longer require incoming U.S. citizens to pledge that they will "bear arms on behalf of the United States" or "perform noncombatant service" in the Armed Forces as part of the naturalization process.
Those lines are in the Oath of Allegiance that people recite as they become U.S. citizens. But USCIS said people "may" be able to exclude those phrases for reasons related to religion or if they have a conscientious objection.
USCIS said people with certain religious training or with a "deeply held moral or ethical code" may not have to say the phrases as they are naturalized.
The agency said people don't have to belong to a specific church or religion to use this exemption, and may attest to U.S. officials administering the oath that they have these beliefs.

This should be a disqualifier if ever there was one. Why would any sane country allow such people to live here let alone be granted citizenship? This country really has gone insane.
“A certain religious training”
Yeah, they can just blow themselves up instead.
Yes——a nightmare that seems unending.

Friend of mine (retired Army officer) said to me two weeks ago Obama would do this. He said they will have no ties to our country and will follow a dictator. Said Hitler did similar.
Awaiting the Donald’s response on this.....three, two, one, blast off
Girouard v. United States 328 U.S. 61 (1946)
I think it is all part and parcel of his destroying our military capability by all means available to him
What else could it be?
The romans did the same thing, by recruiting foreigners, slaves, and the conquered into their armies.
Many here (agents and familiars of the government) will wholly approve of this strategy.
The US has crossed the rubicon, and went from being a constitutional republic to fascist empire. I'm surprised the republic lasted as long as it did. But then again, the US didn't even last the average 200 years that a republic usually lasts.
In the end, it didn't work out well for the romans, either.
I doubt many Mexicans would defend the US against Mexico. I know muslims wouldn’t defend the US against muslims.
You are far from living it alone and it is real.
Exactly!
Please alter the source to Washington Examiner. I accidentally attributed the article’s publication to the Wash Times. Thank you. Sorry for the bother.

I find it interesting that one can raise their right hand to take an oath, even put their left hand on a Holy Bible, and what they say is not binding.
Everyone from people taking their oath of citizenship, to joining the military, to becoming President.
It means nothing.
Just the way the Left wants it.
IS THIS ANOTHER CONSTITUIONAL VIOLATION ?
Wasn’t that oath prescribed by acts of congress ? If so doesn’t any change require it to be amended by the same ? Not by some bureaucrat or even the POTUS.
For unknown reasons this what seems to me to be unsettling story was removed from the sidebar where it had indeed, in a few short minutes, got responses very rapidly. Maybe one monitor sees it as just one more of many stories about bad policies and so no big deal. Nothing to see here, etc.
But given that initial interest and also given the nature of the “unforeseen” threat that this new OFFICIAL weakening of the oath of citizenship poses to all American citizens due to stories such as the one below, I am sending out alerts to my list.
Please forward this thread to your own if you agree.

You mean, just like *he* did?
In 2016, anyone who took the oath taking out the part about defending America...WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF AMERICA.
